This is a very detailed guide that lets you know history, practice, safety, and uses. The breakdowns of individual plants and what to use for different illness were very helpful in building my understanding of the subject. Author Lorraine McCormick has clearly done her research and provides great detail in her descriptions.I found the explanations of where different methods came from to be extremely interesting, and the diagrams given in the book are clear and very useful. The entire book is well written, detailed, clear, organized, and informative. As a new learner of aromatherapy, I thought this book created a great place to start and feel like it gave me a balanced array of information. The second half of the book is a resource that can be used at any level of understanding, as it is a list and description on plants and what to use for different illnesses that can be returned to at any point to find the information required.I enjoyed reading the book and learned a great deal. This is an excellent resource and well worth a read for anyone interested in the subject.
