Is the strange problem with the thumbstick fixed?

Yes it is, and the company will send you a new shoulder pad to fix the problem if you have an old one. They'll also just send you a new controller.

Is it compatible with Nintendo Switch?

No, this is designed to be used with the Nintendo 64. It is not compatible with any other systems.

Does this work with the transfer pack for pokemon stadium?

While the transfer pack can fit (tightly) it is not compatible. What I have done is put my old original controller with the transfer pack in an unused slot (player 4 for example) and used this controller to play with.
