It plugs in my Samsung Galaxy S3, and Nexus 7. It plugged into a friends Nexus 5. It absolutely would not plug into a Samsung Note 3, or Galaxy S5. Perhaps the tolerances on the connector are off by just enough that it will fit some, but not all. Am going to contact seller to see about exchanging it. On the plug side, when it plugs in, it works great. I was able to format the micro SD card with FAT32 or exFAT and it works all the same (provided your phone OS supports exFAT, not all do). I plugged it into my computer at home and it worked in a USB 3.0 port, o it is definitely backward compatible. Of course it also worked in a regular USB 2.0 port.Update - A few days after this review, I was contacted by Pluggable. They offered to help me diagnose my problems, but quickly determined that I had a defective unit. A replacement was sent to me via Priority Mail. The new one now plugs into every phone that the original one would not. I must admit that I didn't expect this kind of support for such an inexpensive item. Thanks Pluggable!Technical note. I tested this card reader with a 64GB uSD card. When I plug it in to a phone or computer, it will "look" like it is working. I see a 64G card installed, however, when copying files, I started to get errors as I got to the 32G mark. The product is not marketed as supporting anything over 32GB, so I was not expecting it to do this. Seems to do its job nicely, but I found a pretty glaring problem...I accidentally put my MicroSD in the wrong side of the USB part and I nearly lost it. I couldn't get the card out without doing some minor damage to both the product and my SD card. They both seem to work, fortunately, so it's just cosmetic damage...Aside from that, it was a bit more difficult than the usual to get the thing in and out of a USB port, and the blue LED light on it is pretty bright, enough to be pretty irritating to me at least.So, so far it works, but it has some kinks, and if you screw up it can be risky. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very handy to have *by M***K on Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2016* I really like this little device.Pros:It has a cap for the USB end to protect the housing and memory card placed in that end.
