If you look at the tool itself you will see a chrome trigger, pull it back and you will see the working part in black move. this is where the anchor plug goes into. Unscrew the screw on the anchor plug enough to be able to catch the small black washer and screw head, place the washer and screw head anchor plug into the black slot section and squeeze the red handle until the screw is ridged in the tool, drill a hole the diameter of the anchor screw in the wall you want to fit the plug, push the anchor plug into the hole with the plug resting in the tool, once the tool and plug are tight to the wall pull the red handles until the spikes on the anchor plug grip into the plasterboard. At this stage, the screw will protrude from the plug and hopefully, the plug will be embedded in the wall , allowing the screw to be taken out and in as required. Practice makes perfect. Thank you.** A: Before you can use these fixings you must first drill a hole in the plasterboard for the body of the fixing to pass through. Careful use of a clean drill will show how thick the plasterboard is from the dust left on the drill bit. Usually plasterboard is either β…œ"/10mm or Β½/12.5mm thick for ceilings & walls respectively. If your plasterboard has been 'double' layered for any reason, you will struggle to get a fixing long enough to work properly. **Q: How would you get these back out of the wall?** A: The only way, I would guess (educated guess) would be to unscrew the bolt as far as possible without removing it, then applying force inwards (towards the wall) to, hopefully, straighten the fixing bracket. That is back towards it's original shape. Obviously you would have to be careful not to damage the plasterboard. These are best described as for providing a semi-permanent fitting due the the way it expands behind the plasterboard when used.
