I was looking for all natural, packable bursts of energy that weren’t sugar bombs and decided to give these a try. I’m really impressed with the texture and flavor of these bars. They’re soft, chewey, and feel like *real* food versus your run of the mill protein bars (Even Kind bars always make me feel like I’m gonna crack a tooth). There’s very little sugar in them which I love; the chocolate bar tastes rich and dark and the greens bar tastes wonderfully vegetal rather than being covered up by sugar. I’m also really impressed with the quality of ingredients; the Coconut Macadamia one (my favorite) felt like it had 20 macadamia nuts in it! The bars don’t have any preservatives in them so they arrived in a cooler bag with an ice pack and state that they require refrigeration, but they stayed fresh in our backpacks in 100 degree weather the entire weekend. You keep it in the refigerator. I'm not sure why, but I like the bar to be soft so I take it out a few minutes before I'm ready to eat. You can leave the bars unrefigeratored for 1 week, so if your taking it to work as part of a snack each day there is no need to worry about keeping it cool. The bars are soft and chewy, they have tiny bits of chocolate, which I didn' t expect based on the name of the product. I could have done without the bits of chocolate. This is a great grain free option, it's flavorful, not too sweet nor bitter. You can see the chunks of ingredients in the bar, it's not one of those ground up into a paste sticky type of bars that are date or nut butter based. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I have now tried both the almond crunch and the coconut and love them both *by M***D on Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2018* Although I am not typically a fan of energy bars, my son brought these on a long morning hike and I confess I was immediately hooked! I have now tried both the almond crunch and the coconut and love them both. As a physician interested in healthful eating and aware of the importance of avoiding simple sugars in processed foods, I am especially impressed with the energy density focused on protein and healthy fat while avoiding the sugar so often used in other bars. Although they need to be refrigerated for storage, they stay incredibly fresh and tasteful for many hours into a hike. In fact the need for refrigerated storage just reminds me of the great nutritional composition of the bars.
