Review: A good planisphere worth the price. - I’ve looked for a good planisphere and I think this one is definitely the right choice. It is a little on the larger size but that makes it easier to read in the dark as the character size is readable. Also, it has a small blue cross on the upper platter that designated the zenith directly above the observer. I’ve used this under red light (to preserve eye sensitivity ) and it is still quite readable. A good choice if you are looking for a planisphere that actually is worth the price.

I’ve looked for a good planisphere and I think this one is definitely the right choice. It is a little on the larger size but that makes it easier to read in the dark as the character size is readable. A nearly perfect version of a Philips Planisphere. Zenith, blue cross overhead point, is misplaced at over 50 degrees declination which would be appropriate for London, UK. Correct placement would be at 42 degrees declination for this planisphere.
