While inheriting the basic functions and design philosophy of the current PlayStation 2, the internal design architecture of this newly redesigned PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system model has been completely overhauled. Slimmer and more lightweight, its internal volume has been reduced by 75 percent, overall weight has been halved and the thickness trimmed down to 2.8cm (thickness of current model is 7.8cm). Its size is almost as small as a hardcover book, making it easier to carry around. Equipped with both a modem port and an integrated Ethernet port for network gaming, the new PlayStation 2 sets new standards in the fusion of design and functionality.

Review: Nearly as good as brand new. - I have a collection of old ps2 games that I never truly got to play because I had my ps2 stolen a long time ago. But after sifting through my games I decided to buy a new one. I picked one up from here and I couldn’t have been happier. The ps2 functioned perfectly without any issues. Almost like it was brand new.
Review: Terrible systems - If I could give 0 stars I would. Purchased a system that was looking really sharp on the outside but it worked extremely terrible. Couldn't play a game to save your life. I returned it and received a new one. The new one on the outside looked beat up but actually worked slightly better than the first. The second system had a mind of its own however freezing often and going extremely slow at the worst times. When you pay over $200 and the say its renewed you expect it to be like new for atleast a little while. I mean we get its an old system but don't lie about your product. These systems work sparingly and most should probably be sold for parts. They should be selling them at $50 or under not $182.

**Q: does this have a warranty/guarantee on the refurb?**
A: Amazon has a 30-day Return policy, Look into Sony's Warrenty tab on Amazon for further information on a longer warrenty.

**Q: Wich model is this console? And could you give me details about the box, cables, state of the console.**
A: I was happy, all cords included. Old school avi hook ups so dont look for anything sdmi bc it wont be there. Nothing usb either. Also no internal hard drive so make sure you get external memory cards. I was very pleased and got it maybe.....January 2019 and still have had zero issues even with extended play time.

**Q: does this also play ps1 games?**
A: Yes.  That is all that it will play for me.  I have to turn the console on/off like 10 times before it will load a PS2 game, but my PS1 game (only have 1) loads and plays just fine.

**Q: Does it come with 2 controllers?,**
A: No, they only provide one controller.

I purchased this console as I have been building up my retro/older game library. The sole reason I purchased this (initially) was because I had some PS2 games that were not running on my thick PS2 and I had read that the slim version can run those that are not running on the thicker console. The second I got this out of the box it has been my PS2 go to. It runs flawlessly and so smooth and takes me right back to my earlier years gaming on PS2.
