Great unit, does what it says, easy and quiet
I bought the Lyman case prep center because my hands were killing me after prepping lots of .223 Rem brass. With the old way, I was using tools twisted by hand or my cordless drill to remove the military crimp, clean the primer pocket, uniform the primer pocket, and chamfer inside and outside of the neck. Now I have all the tools mounted on the Lyman Prep Center, and it's a breeze to prep brass. No more twisting my hands or picking up different tools, or changing bits on my cordless drill. My station is set up as follows: 1) Clean primer pocket--I use an RCBS wire brush-type pocket cleaner, I like it better than the Lyman one that comes with the Prep Center 2) Uniform Primer Pocket 3) Remove Military Crimp 4) Chamfer Outside Neck 5) Chamfer Inside Neck I timed it, and all five stations take about 15-20 seconds per casing. I will be replacing the Pocket Uniformer with an adapter that allows me to use my Worlds Finest Trimmer (WFT) on one of the stations. Then I can trim and finish my brass all in the same place! The unit is quiet, sturdy, and the attachments do what they are supposed to do. It already has made a difference in my reloading speed, and most importantly, my comfort. I highly recommend this unit.

A real time saver for the money.
The tool works great! I purchased because of the multi tool heads and accessories at a great value. The only thing that worries me is that the tools are vertical and the brass chips could or will get down in the shaft bearing area and might cause eventual wear. It comes with a brush I assume for the chips. But I didn't use it for that because I didn't want to brush the chips down in that area even worse. Instead I used a shop vacuum to suck the chips out. Other than that it's a nice machine and a real time saver.

A must have for your reloading bench!!!!
The Lyman case Prep xpress is probably one of my favorite tools that I’ve added to my reloading bench apart from the charge master. This unit is a huge time saver and also extremely valuable for those of you that are in search of precision. I currently reload 270, 308, and 6.5 Creedmoor. Almost all of my shooting is either hunting or precision shooting (trying to put all my bullets in 1 hole at short range or grouping well at medium to long range). Apart from prepping the case necks at a much higher speed with the deburring and chamfering tool, the primer pocket tools are amazing. After uniformity and reaming the primer pockets all my primers go in perfectly. I have not yet taken a batch of reloads to the range yet which have had the Lyman Case prep treatment, however I’m not expecting any extreme changes in group sizes. I’ve made about 150 cartridges using the case prep xpress and enjoy using it. It makes the reloading process much easier and enjoyable and I can crank out 100 rounds of precision or match grade ammo significantly faster than before. Highly recommend!

Works great.
I really want to give it a 4 star but honestly I can’t complain. It has done me great. I really wish it had a speed control though. There’s just some functions I do I wish I could kick the speed up. But! Others I’m sure I’d try to do with a faster speed and just hurt myself or screw up some brass. It’s just a little aggravating when you’re really in a groove and need it to go just a bit faster. Maybe just me being impatient. Works flawlessly. Doesn’t slow down under heavy load. I trim a lot of brass to length on this and not a single issue.

If you reload ammo, you need one.
I have been reloading my own ammo for over ten years now. For years I told myself I don't need a case prep station and did every step of the work by hand. The Lyman Case Prep Xpress came up on sale, a much better price than what my normal supply house offered, so I couldn't pass up the deal. HOLY COW, what a time saver this is. Yes, it takes up some room on your bench, but so do your hand tools when you have them all laid out. You have 5 powered drivers you can mount the different prep tools on. From primer pocket cleaners & reamers, case mouth inside/outside bevelers to case bore brushes. What once took me 30 minutes to prep 50 cases now takes 10 minutes. Some complaints from other reviewers are that the drivers stop working. Mine has served me fine for the past year and over 10,000 cases prepped. They only thing I can think of is that these reviewers forget that the cases are made of brass and do not require a lot of downforce. Yes, if you push too hard the motor will slow down, if you continue to push hard you WILL break the plastic drive gear. Take your time and practice on a few cases before you go whole hog, you will learn a rhythm very quickly and will be surprised how easy it is to prep cases fast. If you are a long-range shooter, stick with the old school method. If you like to go to the range and practice, this machine will get you there faster. Please remember to ALWAYS take your time when reloading ammo and follow all the specs for the ammo you are loading.

Great unit ... so so customer service from Lyman (so far). UPDATE BELOW
Came across some military crimps on some once fired 223 brass and replacement primers wouldn't insert properly. Decided that the last few months of hurting my hands needed to be over and I needed to take better care of my case prep for reliable safe reloading. Kit came promptly from Amazon, but was missing the inside chamfer tool. I submitted a request with Lyman directly, but they have yet to respond or send the needed part (15 days ago) For small rifle primers I trim with the WFT-223 trimmer down to 1.750", use the hand tool for inside chamfer. On the Lyman kit I use the outside deburr tool, then the small case brush. I follow this up with a crimp remover, then primer pocket uniformer, then primer pocket cleaner. For any pistol primers, I skip the trim and deburr/chamfer. I use the crimp remover, then primer pocket uniformer, then primer pocket cleaner, followed up with the medium or large case brush. Operation is quiet and effective. From what I understand it can use any 8/32" threaded tool. You still have some hand cramps after doing a lot of brass since you need to squeeze each case firmly between your fingers (mostly in the crimp remover and primer pocket uniformer). A hard bristle brush type attachment would be better for the primer pocket cleaner attachment, the metal scrape-type one they include is not perfect. I enjoy that you can complete all of these functions together or work on them separately. Would have given it 5 stars if Lyman got the packaging right the first time and responded better with their customer service department. Update - after about three weeks Lyman Customer Service got back to me. Busy season during the holidays. Missing part is being delivered.

Expensive, but worth it for big batches of brass
Although expensive this case prep machine is a huge time saver when cleaning big batches of brass. By custom positioning the included tools I've been able to prep cases MUCH faster, saving about 10X time when working with large volumes of brass. Clean up is pretty easy too. Build quality is pretty decent as nothing about the unit feels particularly cheap. After cleaning and prepping about 20 cases you really see the time-savings in conservation of movement between moving one piece of brass between all of the different tools. When working with large amounts of brass, say 80 or more, this Lyman - or another machine like it - is almost a must-have. It just saves so much time.

Amazing prep station!
Put it though it's paces finally. Around 300 rifle rounds done. Needed a couple pieces that didn't come, I trim my brass and literally do all brass prep on here now. Absolutely love it. Hasn't skipped a beat and made my reloading world so much easier. I'm just mad I didn't buy it sooner when it was half the price lol.
