I wanted to try out a low cost projector first before I dropped the money for all the bells and whistles. I chose this one because it has two separate power inputs. You can use the supplied AC adapter to get full brightness out of the back light. It's still not bright enough for day time viewing but it's noticeably brighter than using the micro USB power port. I really like the fact that it has that micro USB option. I hooked my Roku streaming device to it and powered them both off of a battery bank and it lasted long enough to watch two programs. (Your time will vary depending in the size of the battery bank you use) This portability makes it great for camping. The resolution isn't great. It's not even good. I had trouble navigating my Roku menus because the letters were difficult to read. This thing would be useless in a professional office setting or anywhere that legible text is desired. But more than suitable to let the kids watch some cartoons. I would suggest an external speaker as the built in speaker isn't designed to give a rich quality. Considering the low price point and portability I'm pretty happy with it.
