Geeni Switch Duo Double Smart Plug, White, 2 Outlets – No Hub Compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, Requires 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi

Purchased this device as I recently had also purchased the smart power strip. Works fine as does the smart power strip (one without USB charging). I got this plug because I am finding that all the different companies have their own app. So in order to NOT have to add yet another app.... (Wemo, Geeni, etc.) I went with Geeni as the app lets you add multiple Geeni devices. I am sure all the companies do that, but that was a part of my decision. The DEVICE works great, setup was pretty easy. Loving it so far!

Alexa connects easily by just plugging it in and saying, Alexa, discover all devices. First download the Geeni app on you smart phone. I have 4 other brands of smart plugs. They all work easily with Alexa. I named this one “Plug 5” in the Geeni app then told Alexa, “Alexa, rename Plug 5 to Mantle”. Because I used it to plug in my Christmas lights on the family room fireplace mantle. I can move it and rename it any other unused word or phrase. Alexa can control the Geeni plug by Plug 5 plus any ‘rename’ Being able to plug in any USB devices is a also a very useful feature of the Geeni plug. Both inputs are either on or off together. Not controlled individually.

Very easy to set up with the two plugs just have to w to set both buttons up. App lets you group the two together for syncing up activity like I needed. Will be getting more for the rest of the house! Also perfect for low watt leds. The low watt less that cause other plugs that have dimmer capabilities to continue to feed low amounts of electric to flow to the lights. This causes either pulsing or low glow of some bulbs. Love these plugs!

I ordered two of these at a time, and one is going back. one of them makes a constant high-pitched whining noise as soon as you plug it in. while the device does work, it's the kind of noise that reminds me of fingernails on a chalkboard. Have to lose one start for that, but if the return goes well I may update the review. The other device is great, works as you would expect, completely compatible with my Android device, and my Alexa. The only thing I don't like about it is the click that it makes when it turns on and off. It's loud enough to hear across the room, and if that kind of thing bothers you, you should think about it. Also be aware this is not a dimmable switch EDIT: the replacement came in a few days, no more whine. I'll bump the review up one star, because I do love them and the replacement process was flawless

We installed the Switch Duo smart plugs a few days before DST ended on 1-Nov. When that happened, the plugs did not recognize the time change. Tech Support was fantastic in that the email containing the solution arrived within hours. BTW: solution was to disable location services for Geeni app on my iPhone, reboot the iPhone, turn on location services for Geeni app. Tech Support said they would work to correct this issue in the future.

Loved this unit. Had it plugged in next to my bed for a lamp that I had on a schedule and could activate through Alexa. The two USB ports were great for charging my devices overnight. I decided to try it in another location and it wouldn't work. Went through all of the setup, but it was obviously dead. I contacted customer support and had at least a half dozen emails with them. Each time, I complied with their requests. Finally I was told I would be contacted with warranty replacement info. That was 10 days ago and I've still heard nothing. Tried emailing them again today, but haven't had a response. Very frustrating because I purchased two. I won't buy again if they won't stand by their product. Which means another brand, another app, another setup process.

I like this because it integrates with the Geeni setup I already have. Install & Setup was mostly fine. A bit confusing and a few too many taps but I eventually got there. Once it worked, it worked ... ... for barely over a year. And then it just stopped working. That just not enough for a piece of electronics so simple. I get it is a smart device but I have many others in my house and pretty much all of them are going string 5+ years later if not more.

Initially couldn't get the blue pairing light. Web chat said to hold pairing button for 3-5 seconds. Did that and it didn't help. Then told me to hold it until it clicked (as I was still pressing down). That did it and pairing was simple from there. Hopefully this will last longer than some of the reviews I've read. Paired it with Alexa and renamed it to 'my wife' so the command is "Alexa, turn on.... ;)

I had a few of these scattered around the house - both with and without the USB ports. Set up was easy. Once I changed my wifi, they were no longer compatible. There was also an unrelated power outage around the same time so I thought maybe the plugs were fried. Ended up buying new ones fo replace them. Still couldn’t connect to the wifi. Have tried many times to get a hold of customer support with no luck. Tried to schedule a call for help for 9 am this morning, but they were almost 2 hours late getting back to me. Can’t just sit around and wait without any communication (appointment was confirmed by by email so they did have a way to contact me) to let me know there’s a delay. When the devices are installed, they do work great. But installing them is ridiculous. I read some reviews on the App Store and it seems that there’s an incompatibility with iOS 13+. But that iOS version is from a year ago. Would’ve expected that to be resolved by now.

Tuve la impresión de que podría controlar inteligentemente con alexa y/o una app las terminales de carga usb, pero solo funciona el enchufe. Actualización: ya no es reconocido por la app o Alexa. No se puede parear o configurar. Duró 3 meses exactamente. Ahora tengo que averiguar sobre la garantía! Evita problemas y no lo compres!
