Review: Cheap, but works just fine - We recently acquired an old Olympus BH-2 scope for our lab that came with a couple dud objectives. We grabbed a couple of these AmScope objectives just so we can get it up and running in the short term. This 100x lens works just fine with it. Threaded right in without issue, doesn't interfere with the turning the nosepiece, and produces a decent image. Now, it is very distinctly a Cheap lens. The field flatness isn't great, you can focus roughly 2/3rds of the field at a time. It's also not Exactly parfocal with the other lenses, so it requires a bit of twiddling of the knob to clear up. But for the price it will absolutely do what we need it to do for now, and we're happy as can be. And lastly a note on shipping. It was sent in a plastic tube, with the lens screwed into a retaining ring in the cap. Nice idea. Unfortunately the tube wasn't closed correctly so the lens was at an angle in the tube, potentially a risk for damage in shipping (we didn't have any, but its possible). The tube was also just shipped in a bubble mailer, and had been roughed up a bit, so had some cracks in the plastic. But it was still intact, so all's well that ends well I suppose.
Review: 100x Lens - Worked as expected on current microscope replacing lowest power lens.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what is the working distance?**
A: Much less than a millimeter. This is a high power objective for a microscope. In order for you to see anything it has to be extremely close to the slide holding the sample. It also requires the use of immersion oil connecting the objective to the sample slide. Without the oil, you can not see anything through the eyepieces of the microscope because of light defraction. Hope this helps.

**Q: My stage won't drop any lower for the length of this lens. 😭 Is there anything I can do to make it work, or do i just need to send it back?**
A: I think you need to include a photo so we can see what the problem is. I am assuming the lens screws in but that you are not able to drop the stage low enough? The lens has to literally be in contact with the slide. It would be unusual for the microscope to not allow enough travel. What microscope are you using and does it move the length the manufacturer says?

**Q: How are you supposed to clean the lens? It’s so small it can’t be cleaned properly resulting in oil beads that distort the image**
A: Using compressed air can be helpful to clear the lens. If not, take a piece of lens paper and fold it to a point. Soak the lens paper in a suitable solvent such as Sparkle (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007LBEEWQ). Insert the folded point on to the lens surface and make small circles to clean the entire lens. Use an eyepiece to check for any excess debris or oil on the lens after cleaning.

**Q: will this fit with M150-c model of AmScope?**
A: buy it and try it. Return it if it doesn't
