2547 24 AWG Control Cable Copper Wire Shielded Audio Cable Headphone Cable Signal Line 3-core 6 Meter Grey

I'm a filmmaker and video producer who's trying to build my sound kit back up after my equipment was stolen years ago. I don't have the money for Mogami XLR cables and I decided to make my own. I used some "MFR" XLR connectors I got from eBay (China manufacturer). They actually are pretty decent quality. This cable is a nice thickness. The jacket isn't too rubbery and it's not too plastic-y either. The conductors are a nice size and well insulated. It has both a copper braid sheathing and a foil sheathing, but it doesn't negatively affect the cable's flexibility. It wraps up nicely using the over-under method. The wiring took solder well when I tinned it, and all in all I'm very happy with it. The cable is maybe a little thicker than I'm used to owning, but it's not super thick like some that I've experienced in the past. If you're going to use your XLR for external cabling on a boom pole, perhaps consider something a little thinner for weight reasons. Other than that, I think it's probably the best price/quality cable of this length on Amazon.

Great wire for shielded wiring.

Bought to use for extending pickup lead wires, and they worked great for that purpose. The shielding is just twisted wire, not foil lined, but that doesn't seem to have hurt anything - I hooked up the shield to ground, and the guitar I wired with this is very quiet; as quiet as any I have ever heard. I also ended up using this inside the body, since it made for a super slick/neat looking wiring job to just have single cables between the switches and such. Prior to this, I had used some very expensive name-brand wire that was garbage; much finer gauge, and would tear extremely easy. This stuff was quite sturdy, easy to handle, no issues.

I use this for my limit switches on laser cutter. Also add 0.1uf capacitor at the controller end to eliminate noise on the limit switch wiring.

I've used the 28/3 for several projects to wire up WS2811+12 addressable LEDs and other devices connected to an ESP32, no melting problems once I dialed back the temperature of my soldering iron. Now I needed the 28/4 for wiring up several I2C devices. I like the small diameter cable for my projects as it's easy to work with, makes wiring up the I2C bus (and other devices) a snap and is great for tracing out any problems. Would purchase again.

I ordered the 4-core 26 AWG wire. I received the 2-core 24 AWG wire. I checked my Amazon order history to make sure: yes, I had ordered the 4-core wire I wanted. You might call this a shipping error, and it was, but it was an easy error to make. so I'm calling it a design error. Neither the outer box nor the spool are labeled with the wire type. The labeling on the wire itself cannot be read unless you open the box and then remove the shrink wrap on the spool. The wire itself is labeled, but the labeling is subtle. It does not explicitly mention the number of cores. The running text along the wire I received says: "E249743 STYLE 2547 24AWG 80°C 300V FTI TriumphCable" Note that the number 2547 is used, but the Amazon listing uses this same number for the entire set of 8 or so product variants. Note also that the wording of the product description is (I think) non-standard. it uses the word "Core" where I would have expected "Conductor". This bothered me enough that I carefully looked at a zoomed-in image of the product I ordered: the image has four separate insulated wires, red-white-yellow-black. UPDATE: I asked for a replacement and received it quickly. I was wrong about labeling, sort of. There was an outer envelope that had the correct label. Unfortunately, the actual procuct inside the is STILL the wrong wire. That's it for these guys. There are other vendors on Amazon for this wire.
