Kindle is great for straight-through pleasure reading, but it is NOT good for reference or instructional works; in fact, it's absurdly clumsy and frustrating. For example, the very good index of this guide is produced in the Kindle version, but it can't be used, since the Kindle version doesn't show me page numbers. The "Field Guide" on the other hand fits handily in a pack or carryall side pocket, is spiral bound for stay-open reading, and finding a point of interest takes seconds.

Very convenient, written to the point, good table of contents leading to well-marked chapters, PERFECT index. Really is the book to have for this camera. I also bought its big brother, the full-length "Nikon D4/D4s Guide to Digital SLR Photography" on Kindle. I'm reading through the Kindle version, also good.
