There's a few things that I do like, and a few things that I do not. I will go over the Pros and Cons.Pros:Fast frames = The update interval is fast, providing more constant and accurate feedback several times a second.Compatible = The great thing about the ELM 327 IC Chip is the fact that it communicates with a lot of different protocols, allowing it to work on virtually any OBD-II style vehicle. The serial style interface (COM Port) allows the tool to work with many different programs.Inexpensive = For the ratio of money saved self-diagnosing your car vs. the price of this product, It's a must buy. This tool will pay for itself in no time.Functionality = Displays most sensor data that is monitored by your car's PCM. o2 sensors, coolant temp, engine loads, misfiring information, Check Engine (MIL) codes, Code history, Clears codes, air intake/manifold pressure, and many more parameters....Cons:Inability to write: You can not use this tool to write data and remap a car's PCM or change any parameters of the vehicle.Lack of technical data: I personally expected the tool to display more information than it does. Do not get me wrong here... It does display everything a typical person needing a tool such as this would need. I was in hopes of even more data than this displays. I don't know if this is a tool limitation, or the PCM does not provide the data, or perhaps I am not using the right software.This tool is very helpful for your cars, and also, perhaps making a little cash diagnosing other people's vehicles (Even though you can read a trouble code (Ex: Coolant Temp too low), There's still some mechanical knowledge required to figure out WHY the code is there (Ex: Malfunctioning sensor, problem with PCM, or actually a problem with coolant temp being low due to a bad water pump, thermostat stuck closed, etc...))I give this tool a 5 out of 5, Mainly because it does serve the purpose it was designed and advertised for, and very functional. If you still have XP then its good.For the doofies who say "does not work, I have windows such and such"...did you really think something for $10 or less that is doing a $50+ job is going to support windows 8 or even 7?Check out the manufacturer date on that bad boy. It just got released when windows 7 did! You do need to have some good diagnostic software on your computer to really use this product to its full potential. The software included is not very good but there are some good free OBDII software packages out there and some excellent ones that you need to pay for. Even if you pay for a good software package, its still less than a trip to the dealership.
