My little sugar peas took right off in these, see photo! I also added a photo of a dry Ferry pod next to one from Jiffy so you can see how much larger these Ferry pods are.If you want to reuse a jiffy tray just soak the Ferry pods first then squish the bottoms so they fit. Or just put them in any old tray or pan packed next to each other so they don't tip however if you do that, put a thin layer of gravel or a cookie cooling rack or something underneath the pods so they are not sitting flat against the pan. You don't want the roots to rot.I used to get white mold/fungus with these when I used a lid, I don't use lids at all anymore, and I also turn a small fan on them it they get too wet.One more trick, put a heating pad under the pan, to simulate the sun's warmth, it really makes a difference as it is the warmth that makes seeds sprout, not light. (Seeds can't "see" the light when they are buried under dirt.) Great deal.These pellets are great for clones and seeds. Just soak overnight and they are ready for use.I have been experimenting between rockwool cubes and these pellets. I would choose the pellets for starting seeds. For cloning I have had better results with the cubes. They always seem to have stronger roots. The pellets do work, but they seem to give me mixed results. I have never had pellets or cubes completely fail me. The small BOX of Jiffy 7 pellets fit A-OK but these in the Bag are too wide for the seating circles in the mini greenhouses made by Jiffy. I own 3 different ones and these pellets fit in NONE of them the were half inch or so too wide. I am not happy with the item but love the boxed (correct size) Jiffy 7 pellets sold on Amazon Also. I will have to find another use for these if possible as I have opened the package before I knew they were wider pellets.
