When Angie (Annie Q., The Leftovers), a damaged but brilliant young woman from a tough urban background, is accepted at a prestigious university, she sees a way out of her troubled life. But when her financial aid is cut, she breaks into the organic chemistry lab and synthesizes the drug Ecstasy in order to supplement her income and stay in school. Becoming one of the west coast’s largest distributors of "X, ", cutting deals on campus and in posh nightclubs, her dual life (as a "model minority", coed and a profit-driven drug dealer) becomes further complicated by the effect it has on those she cares about the most, including a young underprivileged girl who reminds Angie of her own dark past. As Angie’s increasingly reckless ways spin her life and the lives of those around her out of control, she must learn to transcend the hardships of her past and step into the light. Give them the control of so much of your life and soon you'll realise they control your life.Ain't nothing free but love. And love costs everything.Okay, so the movie shows you a person willing to love despite her dysfunction. And it changes lives. ### ⭐ Terrible *by R***D on Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2020* Recently saw the Francesca Eastwood movie M.F.A., a Prime movie,Also low budget, but much, much better. This thing is painful to watch, and no fun at all.It does have a three-way scene in it with Eastwood, the femalelead, and a dude. Only thing about it that saved it from being a completewaste of time. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Important story to be told. *by B***2 on Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2021* I am giving it five stars becuase I am taking into account the low budget. Francesca Eastwood was solid. I felt like if this was a higher budget movie with bigger hitters it could have a top notch movie. Instead they did the best they could with what they had and all and all pretty well done. I thought the story was top notch the execution could been a little cleaner. Couragous story by Angie Wang its not easy to bare your soul so I commend her for that. Good job working woking with at risk kids, definitely not a easy journey.
