Yaktrax Traction Chains for Walking on Ice and Snow (Pair)

In the last few months I've started having trouble with a hip, because I trail walk with my dog every day and wasn't willing to let a litle ice\snow stop me I felt I needed better traction than my trail boots offered. I learned last year what a slip on the ice and a slide down a hill felt like a couple times on one of these walks. Banged my head pretty good once and that was enough! I got these in hopes of gaining better traction. They work like a champ! Granted they are not quite as good as cleats or actual crampons but they are like tire chains for my feet. Just got hit with a bunch of ice on the east coast and these have proven their worth to me time and again. Now I don't see the sad face my dog gives me when I'm too afraid to take him out to the woods. Made the difference to me, literally walk the ice like a mountain goat!They seem sturdy enough to me and should last me a few years and I have already recommended these to a few of my fellow trail walkers

I've been using Yaktrax since 2015. Same pair - seven seasons running and they've worked great and are still in amazing shape for how much wear they get. My wife recently was walking our husky mix in the snow and ice while I was out of town and got pulled off her feet. I told her she should use Yaktrax and ordered her a set. These newer ones with the squared off chains instead of springs are so much better and seem completely bomb proof that I ordered a new pair for myself as well.If you get ice where you live and need to walk on it, I would consider these a must have item and this is the exact model I would recommend - best performance and most durable I've ever seen.

Work great but leaves mark on boots

These are so easy to put on and have literally saved me during this very icy winter!

Same product I have gotten before, ses to be made well, but the size is like a childs size. I reordered the same thinking since I have bought them before that someone just returned wrong size product in box. But the new ones are also small to the point that even in my smallest shoes, which are clogs, the shoes scrunch up and then my feet wont slip inside. The picture is of old ones with new ones side by side for comparison. I would expect some stretching with use, but this is major size difference. I will return and reorder larger and hope next size up fits.

These are great. A must have for winter. I have to work out side alot on pavement. It kills me when other people don't understand that 30 or 40 dollar device will help prevent a very costly fall.

The stainless steel chains cut into the ice and packed snow. No slipping on the miles long walks on splotchy-iced sidewalks, smooth frozen puddles, packed snow or partially thawed areas. After the 15 miles I put on them so far, the stainless steel chains show no signs of crushing, abrasion or wear.

They fit very snugly over my boots. They give me a very safe feeling when walking on ice and snow. I’m quite pleased with the product.
