So far so good. My garbage disposal was backing up food into my dishwasher for years and it was gross. I finally got around to installing this check valve which stopped it and I can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner. It was so simple. No leaks and works well

Works as described

Our dishwasher has a check valve but to keep future inspectors happy, I'm using this external check valve to replace the above-the-counter airgap. (So I can reuse that hole for a water spigot.)

I have had this in my sump return line for about 4 days. First day seemed promising, I could tell it took a moment to close up and stop the back flow. Today it seemed the same but after waiting an hour or so I can tell there is a slow leak from the check valve returning back to my sump. I wonder if it needs more back pressure to close properly but I don't expect it to get better from here but I guess I will see. Mine sits vertically so back flow would come directly straight down on the valve. I don't think this is advertised for the way I am using it but I know others may be looking for a similar product for the same solution.

cheaper one failed with a bad flapper valve. bought this one to replace. i'm pleased. good quality.

As many others have said, this works perfectly to prevent backflow into a dish washer. The item can be cut to accommodate various hose sizes. My advice would be to carefully check and re-check sizing before cutting the part. Ask me how I know..... I was able to recover, but cutting a bit too much off cost me some time and effort. No fault of the part - all on me. Good luck!

La compré porque decía que era 3/4 a 1 pulgada y no es cierto. Quizá de 1/2 pulgada si es, pero no me sirve. Terminé comprando una igual pero de 3/4.

I love it. I love it I love it I love it. It's perfect. My new 19mm shower drain pump hose fitted nicely over this check valve it and secured snugly with a lovely shiny jubilee clip on each end. Deeply satisfying and a thing of functional beauty. And what's genius about this is that it lets the water flow out one way, and not back the other. And behold my boat shower tray empties in seconds. Bob is your uncle and fanny is your aunt.

Complete waste of money. Failed immediately, not very robust. Need to get a different type. Save your money and do not buy this.
