It may be because our windows are north facing, and therefore get little light, but the clings don't seem as bright when looking from the outside in. You can still see them and see their color however. I put up the clings during our 2 year old's nap and she noticed them immediately when she woke up and was excited to see all the bright colored leaves. So far the clings have been easy to remove and reapply. They are reusable, when you take them down simply put them in a plastic bag and reapply next year. You might need to use some window cleaner for the second and third applications.
