It's 5Vdc, not 12Vdc.
This is an unmanaged 5-port switch. My computer connected at 1 Gb/s, but for some reason it seemed to take a few 10's of seconds for DHCP to assign an address and the Internet to become reachable. That easily could be due to something in my setup as the switch did eventually work correctly after several seconds. I was disappointed to find that it is a 5V input, not 12V. The photo in the listing clearly identified it as a 12V input. I worked around it by adding a buck converter. The purported 12V input was the only reason I selected this product over other offerings. See photo of the actual nameplate and the screengrab of the listing photo. Power into my buck converter with two ports active on the switch was less than 0.5W meaning the switch also was using less than 0.5W.

its a sweet thing
so far so good, it was plug and play and it works now all my network talk at 10gbe or 10gbps from pc to my router and truenas and unraid server if it works good and keeps working then i might get another. best way to transfer for speed is 10gbe and fastcopy

Average 5 port switch
This is a cheap unmanaged switch that does it's job decently. It is cheaply made plastic shell holding the electronic components. The bandwidth throughput is not throttling as it handles 1 gig speeds fine. There is 5 ports (one in and 4 out). It is a powered switch so you will need to find a way to plug the charger in. It is always on unless you unplug it from the outlet. It is very easy to use as you connect your cable from the router to the switch (pick any port) and connect the ethernet cables that lead to other devices to any unused port. Simple as that.

Great for an uncomplicated extension of gigabit connections
I got this router to handle a specific little group of devices that happen to all be grouped together at my entertainment center, including the TV, a streaming device, a game console, and another little DIY device that happens to work over an ethernet port. Someday I'll switch out one of those for another streaming box. In that context, it's easily serving these devices that generally won't and can't demand more than 1Gbps in throughput, even from a shared uplink to a NAS or the internet. While I haven't done a performance test, the listing claims 10Gbps switching capacity, which theoretically is well above any conceivable amount of data transmission all of the ports are capable of. For anybody that doesn't understand why that's a good thing, it basically means that you're not going to hit a bottleneck if there's a situation where port 1 and 2 are fully saturating 1Gbps between each other, and port 3 and 4 are doing the same, and maybe there's some random amount of activity with port 5 too. If the internal capacity isn't high enough, a port could reach a limit, and then the whole thing slows down. Another reviewer claimed that the housing of the 5x 1G model has a metal housing; but that's incorrect, it's definitely a plastic housing. That's not necessarily a bad thing, because this unit doesn't produce anywhere near enough heat to need metal to dissipate heat, but it's worth noting. The reason this is a fanless unit is because it doesn't produce enough heat to even be noticeable. Additionally, the plastic housing feels pretty sturdy and doesn't flex under a good squeeze, so I think it's fine for any situation involving 1Gbps connections. On that note, I do know that a lot of modern routers are shipping with 2.5Gbps or 5Gbps ports, or even the occasional 10Gbps port, so this switch is going to be underwhelming if your network is making the move to higher speeds. However, it's also just $10, and it provides more than enough throughput for many of the devices that are likely still on a network, like my streaming boxes and TV. All things considered, it's a small and light network switch that does the job it should be doing, and it does it well. The $10 price is perfect for something like this, and I'm perfectly happy to have it stationed in my entertainment center to handle those devices.

Great price and works well for me. Easy to set up.
I don't know how much I can say about a simple item. It is about half the price of what I would have paid at retail. Works great and didn't even have to read the manual to get it working. I read it afterward to see if I missed anything. So it is easy to set up and works and connects well to my existing Wi-Fi 7 router port. I guess you do need the manual if you want to manage the switch, but as I use it for my desktop, I don't really need management. The power supply is 12 volts at 1 amp which makes it great if you want to use it in an RV or while camping with something like satellite internet. Overall this seems to be a simple, useful, and good quality switch.

Very easy to setup. No port speed indicators
I ordered this gigabit switch to provide networking in my workshop. I already have gigabit to a wall socket but had no way of connecting more than one device at a time until now. My experience with setting this up was that it was very easy. I connected a cat 6 cable from the wall to this switch, and another one from this switch to my computer. I picked the ports at random. I then plugged in the power to the switch. It detected everything and immediately I was seeing networking from the computer and the lights on the switch were blinking. The switch has 5 gigabit ethernet ports that all seem to be equivalent. Each one has a bright activity LED. The construction is a fairly normal budget plastic case. Power is delivered through a barrel jack from a standard transformer-plug. It turns out that there is a power LED on the side but unless you are looking from just the right angle the plastic case blocks your view. Operation is silent because there is no fan. There are two negatives to this switch: there are no obvious mount points, and there is no speed indication on the ports to indicate whether a port is running at 10, 100 , or 1000. Apart from that, it works and is very simple to use.

Simple, Fast, and Silent! The Easiest Way to Expand My Home Network
I’ve been dealing with this frustrating issue lately, my main desk has been running low on Ethernet ports. With so many devices, my router just couldn’t keep up. That’s when I decided to grab the VunLink 5-Port Gigabit Switch. I was after a simple “set it and forget it” kind of solution to get everything hardwired for that sweet, sweet speed. Honestly, once I plugged it in and connected my devices, I was blown away by how such a small gadget could make such a huge impact on my daily routine. The Good Stuff: True Plug-and-Play Simplicity: Right from the get-go, this feature stands out. Seriously, there’s no configuration needed at all. You just plug in the power, hook up your main internet line, and connect your devices. It worked like a charm with all my gear, which really boosts my confidence in its compatibility. Whisper-Quiet Fanless Design: This was a big deal for me since the switch is right on my desk. Being fanless means it’s totally silent. No annoying hum or whirring, which is perfect for a peaceful home office or even a gaming setup in the bedroom. Rock-Solid Gigabit Speeds: I’ve run speed tests on all the ports, and let me tell you, it delivers full Gigabit performance without any lag. It handles high-bandwidth stuff like 4K streaming and large file transfers to my NAS like a pro. Feels very, well, professional! Sleek & Compact Build: The unit is pretty small and feels sturdy. It doesn’t take up much space on my desk, and honestly, the minimalist design looks fantastic with my other tech gear. Energy Efficient Performance: Even with all five ports active, it stays surprisingly cool. It’s nice to know it’s designed to be energy-efficient, especially since I keep it powered on 24/7. The "Heads Up" Stuff: Unmanaged Simplicity: Just a quick note: this is an "unmanaged" switch. So, it's great for home and small office setups where you just need extra ports. But if you’re the kind of user who needs advanced features like VLAN tagging or complex traffic management, you might want to look for a managed model. Ethernet Cables Not Included: Like most switches, it comes with the power adapter but no Ethernet cables. Make sure you’ve got enough Cat6 or Cat5e cables ready to go, so you can connect everything as soon as it arrives. LED Indicator Brightness: The green status lights on the front are super handy for checking which ports are active, but wow, they’re bright. If you plan to put this in a bedroom, you might want to hide it behind a monitor or use a small piece of dimming tape if you’re sensitive to light at night. Bottom Line: If you’re on the hunt for a reliable, professional-grade way to up your wired internet game without any tech headaches, this VunLink switch is an awesome find. It’s well-made, quiet, and delivers the high-speed connection I need for both my office work and gaming. Honestly, it’s really boosted my confidence in the stability of my home network!

Tiny simple network switch that gets the job done
I'm very happy with this simple 5 port unmanaged network switch. It's tiny. It does exactly what it advertises. It's simple to use and set up, just plug in the power supply and your ethernet wires. It's very compact for a 5 port, which is something I find important. It's mostly made of plastic but feels pretty solid. So far I've been using it for about a month and have had no problems with it. Overall, I have no problem recommending this network switch to anyone.

Tiny, Cheap Gigabit Switch That Does Exactly What It Says
The 5‑port Gigabit switch is about as simple as it gets. The main reason to buy it is the price. It’s extremely cheap, tiny, and completely plug‑and‑play. For basic use or a few smart home devices, it does the job without any fuss. Build quality is what you’d expect at this price point. It’s all plastic and feels a bit cheap, but not in a way that makes me think it’ll break immediately. It just doesn’t have the weight or sturdiness of a higher‑end switch. There’s no mounting hardware, no screw holes, and not even rubber feet, so it slides around unless you add something yourself. Performance was better than I expected. I ran multiple Ookla speed tests with and without the switch in the chain, about half a dozen runs each. The results were basically the same. I topped out around 850 Mbps, which is below the theoretical 1 Gbps, but that’s almost certainly my NIC being the bottleneck. For everyday use, especially for IoT or low‑demand devices, it’s more than fine. Long‑term reliability is the only unknown. It’s small and plastic, so heat dissipation isn’t going to be amazing. Will it handle sustained full‑load traffic for hours? Hard to say. But based on my testing so far, I don’t have any complaints. It’s also more than 10x cheaper than the Ubiquiti smart switch I use for my home’s wired backbone, so expectations should match the price. Pros - Extremely cheap - Very small - True plug‑and‑play - Gigabit ports that perform close to expected speeds - Power light Cons - All‑plastic build feels cheap - No mounting hardware or rubber feet - Long‑term heat performance unknown - Not ideal for high‑demand setups If you need a simple, inexpensive gigabit switch for IoT devices, a spare room, or a temporary setup, this is a great value. If you want something sturdy or built for heavy sustained loads, you’ll want to spend more. For the price, it’s hard to complain.

5-Port Gigabit Unmanaged Network Switch – VunLink Desktop Ethernet Switch Hub, Plug and Play,...
Since I've noticed that some sellers will sell totally different products using the same Amazon product page, my review is specifically on the "5-Port Gigabit Unmanaged Network Switch – VunLink Desktop Ethernet Switch Hub, Plug and Play, Fanless Silent, Energy Efficient, High-Speed Connection for Home, Office, NAS, Gaming" The item is sold in a lid sealed manufacturer's box. I cut open the seal and examined the switch and power adapter plug and they appeared to be brand new. My wireless router only has 3 ports and because the ports were being used (my VoIP box, my NAS drive, and my Android TV box), I thought that having a network switch which gives me additional Ethernet ports would be great to have which is why I requested this product. I connected this switch to my wireless router by disconnecting my VoIP box from my wireless router and plugging the VoIP box into this switch and using the port which was being used my my VoIP box for this new switch. My VoIP box obtained an IP address without any issues and was able to connect to the internet since I could make a phone call with my phone (and receive a phone call). I didn't test the speed of the ports on this switch since my internet isn't fast enough so that I would notice any difference between accessing the internet via the wired Ethernet network connection. I would only be able to test whether the ports are Gigabit by transferring files or streaming between 2 devices connected to the same switch and not accessing the internet since I don't pay for a very fast connection. This network switch works and it does do a good job in my opinion. At the time of my review, the product is listed for $16+tax and there is currently an online coupon which brings down the price to $15.30+tax which is a good price for this switch in my opinion.
