Great for Hoyoverse games
Great for playing Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero!! Recommend if you need a handheld for those games.

Powerful device in a compact, retro shell.
I've been seeing the Miyoo name is all the retro groups I'm in and people are pretty impressed with them. I was a bit skeptical, so I had to check the Miyoo A30 Retro Game Console out. What I found was a perfectly capable device, with a D-Pad that works well for fighting games, not-overly clicky buttons and decent sound in a very compact device. While the screen is a bit small, you know that just by reading the description. The device will play all the way to PS1 (controllers permitting), play them for a couple hours and it can easily slip into your pocket. It is nice that it comes with a soft, but sturdy case. Yet, I don't use it -- it adds too much bulk to something so tiny. All-in-all, this is a device I can easily recommend to any family or friend.

Bad experience
It had an issue with green tint all over the screen, specially on the right side, I couldn't play more than half and hour before I got annoyed. I contacted them about this, sent them videos where it showed how awful the green spots were, and they said it was normal behaviour, that in some brightness levels it could show, but mine showed at all levels and even at max brightness.

Well-made and super pocketable…
Love this little guy. Feels great in your hands. High quality buttons and d-pad. Great for playing on a quick break.

Excellent screen, great ergonomics and quality controls
Be aware the price for this on Amazon is inflated. You can save by ordering directly from the company. I love this thing and I'm very happy with my purchase. I've had it about a month and I'm very happy with my purchase. The screen is sharp and bright and just looks fantastic. I use this for retro emulation, basically old systems up through PSP. It takes a bit of setup (you can find videos online, I used one from retro gaming corps). It helps if you're familiar with retro emulators and how this stuff all works, but it's really not too difficult if you have a moderate amount of technical savvy. If you're comfortable downloading and installing programs and finding files on a computer, you'll be fine. The Pocket Max feels like a quality unit and it's comfortable to hold. The sticks, d-pad and buttons all feel great. I also like that the sticks are full size - I have a couple of smaller retro handhelds that have smaller sticks, and they're OK, but they don't feel the same as the full size ones. The screen is just amazing. I have it at around 1/3 to 1/2 brightness and that's plenty. The battery on the Pocket Max is also excellent. If I'm using it a lot I might have to charge it every other day. Retro emulation is a lot of fun, but understand that this system does not come with any emulators or ROMs. Those are easy enough to get (along with BIOS files needed for some systems). Once you start learning about this stuff it all starts to make sense. Once you have everything installed there will be tweaking to get each emulated system to look like you want. There are forums where you can ask questions (reddit, etc) if you get stuck on something. This system is highly recommended, but look around to see what the price is directly from Mangmi - it's much cheaper. Saying this may get my review disqualified, I don't know.
