Got this for a new band saw vs the high priced option from the saw's manufacture. Very pleased! Coupled to the saw using its lamp outlet - seems to be well built, good amount of light generated.

This unit offers a tight light pattern, functioning like a spot light rather than a flood light. It is plenty bright for close work. The only complaint is that the joints are not very stable. It is mounted on a CNC machine which has the typical machine vibrations. The lamp tends to "droop" while the machine is running. If I tighten the joints any more, it locks the joints, which is not all bad. Just limits the flexibility f the lamp. The lamp it replaces, which is an incandescent which it a nightmare as far as bulb failures, has the joints that will hold the lamp head in place. Just a comparison for the sake of understanding my baseline. I do like it, though! And the price is right. I bought 5, ultimately, and will order more when I have finished installing the first lot. I bought this light for my husband because he had just bought a new Lathe. My husband is almost completely blind. This light was very helpful to him to see what he was doing on the lathe. He liked that you could put it where you wanted it.

After assembling it I mounted it to my mill. While trying to adjust it I had to keep tightening the pivot joints. I can’t get the pivots to hold their position. I check it and it keeps sagging from its own weight. I disassembled it took a Dremel grinding wheel and cut serrations in the washers to try an create some friction. It still sags. Move on to a plan “B”. Also I wish the arms were longer, it would sag even easier.
