2 Column 38.75" Wide Display Cabinet Media, Double Width Wall Storage, Cherry

This is a really nice product. Looks real pretty when finished. Like others have said, the underneath of the shelves is not black but that makes no difference unless you are low to the ground looking up. It does wrap around underneath the shelf. The quality of the product is very nice. It was not hard to assemble. One person could do it but my wife had me help her when putting the back panels on to keep it aligned properly. We bought a double width and a triple width shelving unit and, in building both units, only had one nail that missed the mark when putting on the back panel. It was easy to hide though. The shelves do not go clear to the panel as mentioned but, again, no big deal because when you fill up the shelf with movies or cd's you don't even see it. My wife did put a few knick-knacks on a couple shelves but there is no problem with it. We did not nail our shelves to the wall; the way they instructed seemed awkward. Ours is on a carpeted area and doesn't seem to have any problem with leaning or being unstable. I don't see any problem with it possibly falling--unless someone pulled on it good and hard. We put the feet on the bottom and it helps to stabilize. One tip I could suggest is using a pair of pliers to hold the feet on the bottom and the small nails for the panels when you are first starting to hammer them into place. It helps keep it steady and is easier on your fingers. Overall we are very pleased with the appearance and durability of these shelves. We would recommend them. We bought the cherry and black units and they look very sharp!

Simply put, it stores all my CDs, Dvds of all sizes in a double media tower. It was very easy to put together. All the parts were minimal and putting the tower together was done in 17 minutes. The packaging the unit it came in protected the parts/unit and no damage or scratches were found even though the box was damaged when received. I like the design and ease of storing the CDs and DVDs etc. The metal plugs that hold the shelves were easy to put in and pull out when installing the shelves. The whole unit is connected with dowels and three lock down pegs nuts only. This does allow the unit to wobble and is why the unit comes with wall/tower adapters and plastic strap to connect to a wall. This is the only draw back for me. The base is not wide enough and the tower is not securely mounted to the baseand only by dowels. The base is not wide enough for this tall tower and allows it to wobble when taking or putting a CD/DVD in and out of the tower. I have the unit standing on a thick tug which makes even worse. I placed shanks under the unit to stablelize the unit. This not the units fault but something the manufactuer needs look at when designing the base for this unit. The tower needs to be centered on the base and not more to to the back side of the base as is which allows it wobble. I am still well pleased as it does what I wanted it for and looks great. I would have given it a 5 star if wasn't for the wobble in the unit, but gave it a four because it's not the units fault I stored it away from the wall and on a thick rug. I recommend it anyone who has a wood floor etc and no thick rugs and will store unit against a wall. Lots of storage space in this unit.

I've bought shelving from Prepac before and really liked their overall look and quality. I've got a collection of retro games and their media towers worked well in the past for NES & SNES carts, Genesis cases, CD jewel cases, DVDs, Blurays, even long boxes. So I got this because I was running out of space. Was easy to assemble but there was two main issues. One the color is 100% not Cherry. It's clearly Walnut, I know because the other media towers I've bought from them are actually cherry. So I'm not sure if I just got a messed up unit or this is what they call cherry now, but either way it's not a deal breaker. The bigger issue was they only sent me one back panel. The instructions clearly say you get two back panels and the one I got was just big enough for one half. Talked customer service, got thru to them easily and they're sending out a replacement in 4 to 5 business days. So be aware that they might not have all the parts but at least their customer service is well above par.

I was impressed that the product was so compactly packaged and yet arrived in nearly perfect shape. There were just two small nicks in the wood that are not at all noticeable when assembled; one of them was on a shelf that I just reversed so the blemish faced the back. The shelf looks very nice when assembled, and holds a lot of CDs or other media. For audio cassettes the open rear of the shelves is not ideal, but then cassettes are not so common any longer so I'm probably one of the few who still has some. The adjustable spacing of the shelves makes it very adaptable, and I like that they provided enough shelf to make them all for CDs. If you use it for DVDs or VHS tapes you will end up with some shelves left over, which could be handy if you bought a second one for smaller items like cassettes. :-) It took me about three hours to build. I am far from a carpenter, and have only built things like this a half dozen times in my life. The instructions were clear and the assembly went smoothly except for the back. The instructions tell you to put the horizontal nails 3-inches apart and the vertical ones 2-inches apart, but they only provide about half the nails you would need to do this. The graphic shows a number of nails that are roughly double the spacing they recommend, and I suspect that whoever packed the parts followed the picture rather than the words. I didn't have any nails like they provided, so I ended up drilling a few pilot holes and adding some #4 screws to make the back solid. Figuring this out added to the assembly time, but when it was done I was quite pleased. Overall, I think it is a solid and practical shelf that looks smart for a reasonably low price.

This is a quality product and rivals Ikea in quality. Easy to assemble. You do have to take extra care positioning and nailing the backing on but this is true for all products like this. The backing actually is quite thick. Looks good. Very stable. Manufactured and packed in Canada. 95% of product materials are sourced in Canada. I bought it on sale and it was worth the price I paid. Shipped and arrived earlier than expected. I highly recommend this product.
