Disappointed in these and the function. Setup was easy and I really like the ramp up/down for the lights attached. The problem is with manually turning the switch off it loses its connect to the wifi. I tried making all the switches have a static IP and still are unable to be controlled with WiFi if turned off manually. I should have bought more Kasa switches as they function better. Edit: after months they suddenly work as they should. Unknown if there was a firmware update or what. But these are fine now.

It was very hard to pair these. For each of the 4 switches, I tried multiple times, and they simply would not pair. For each one, I waited a day or two and then, magically, the same actions that failed previously started to work (with both HomeKit and Home Assistant). They work fine now, but frustrating beginning. (and, yes, I reset all devices multiple times, including network infrastructure). Also, this is just an on/off controller. It does not allow the user to define actions associated with double-click, hold, or long press, as other switches do.

DO NOT!!! Upgrade Firmware…. It disabled the first three switches installed and left me with just one that works with my LED recessed lighting. I am waiting to hear back from the support team at tp-link for a solution. Other than that the installation was pretty straight forward. The switch that I did not upgrade the firmware on works well.

Had to uninstall my Wemo trash dimmers as the Belkin support of the app stopped. In a way I am glad because the Wemo Belkin never worked as expected. The Tapo devices are super awesome. They are easy to install and the app is amazing. I highly recommend Tapo.

Pretty good, just a pain that it can't be set up without a smart phone and an app from a Chinese company!
