Better quality than I expected!
I got these for my two little boys (ages 4 and 7) who are ninja obsessed. We end up buying new foam swords for them about monthly because the foam ones just don’t hold up to little boys whacking them on the ground or against a fence. These are heavy rubber material (reminds me of a tire) they do not bend or break. We’ve had them for over a month and they look like new even with my rough and tumble boys clanking them on everything. My boys are good about following rules about not hitting people with toys so it should be noted they are heavy enough to hurt someone if used improperly. Yet they are light enough to be used in play by a small four year old.

Move over, Cold Steel—there’s a new Sensei in town.
My kid is getting this Master USA Training Sword for Christmas to begin his journey into the shadows. But before I let him start his ninja training, I had to put this thing through a rigorous "Quality Control" session (which is parent-speak for "swinging it around the living room while making 'whoosh' sounds when no one was looking"). The "Expert" Verdict: I used to sell Cold Steel knives and swords back in the day, so my bar for "practice gear" is higher than a double-jumping rogue. I’ve handled their legendary polypropylene practice swords, and honestly? This one is just like them—but actually better. The Build: It’s made of heavy-duty Black Polypropylene that feels indestructible. The Style: It has a Short Samurai style that is perfectly balanced for a kid-sized ninja. The Handle: The Samurai Style Handle provides a grip so secure, it’s not going anywhere during an intense sparring session. The "Sparring" Reality: This is legitimate Sparring Practice Equipment. It’s got that "thunk" factor you want. I tested the quality beforehand, and it’s solid enough to take a beating without shattering like those cheap plastic toy-store versions. It’s got the heft of a real weapon but the safety of high-grade poly. Final Verdict: If you want your child to become the next Hokage (or just stop breaking your broomsticks while pretending they are katanas), buy this. As a former sword pro, I give it the official seal of approval. 12/10. My kid is going to be the most dangerous person at the Christmas tree this year.

Not what I expected but in a good way
I was expecting this to be a thicker type of plastic sword that I would buy at a costume store because the price seemed so cheap. So, I bought it to go with my son's ninja costume. Joke is on me because this thing will last for eternity and can probably be used for home defense or cause him to grounded for going after his sisters. I don't know anything about martial arts training but I would guess to say this would be a great product to buy for it. It has been beaten against trees, stumps, walls and plenty of rocks and barely has a scratch on it. I keep waiting for it to break but I don't see that happening any time soon. Overall, I would certainly buy it again but probably not for a ten year old boy.

Missing Part
They did not send the rubber ring that holds the guard into place. I did not realize it until I ordered a second one, which did come with it. I saw other reviews saying they were missing parts too. Im just going to roll with it since the guard stays in place pretty well without it, but just be aware they may not send you the entire package. There should be 3 parts total. 1. the main blade/handle 2. the guard (circular flat thing that slides on) 3. rubber collar (part that slides on after to hold the guard in place) Since they are not too expensive and it still serves the purpose for which I purchased them, i'll let it go, but if you want the entire package you paid for I recommend contacting them right away if all 3 parts are not included. The product: I needed a prop to hold that represents a short katana (wakizashi) while doing motion capture work. The wiffer swiffer I had with me was not holding up. Parts were flying off and nearly breaking, so I needed something better. So far these are serving that purpose perfectly. They have a nice weight to them.

A must for any ninja!
I purchased this to accompany my son's ninja costume. My 8 year old loves it. The sword is realistic in size and the quality is A+. It is heavy, but not too heavy for kids. It is realistic in design, but not sharp or dangerous if used as a prop. As with any type of fake sword, it will hurt if you hit others -ha!

Grandsons loved these
Bought for three of my grandsons and they loved these. They were different ages so some used to chop weeds while playing in woods behind house. While older ones played using these as pretend weapons. Very sturdy.Had to warn grandsons to be careful not to hurt someone with these.

Amazing training sword
My son was asking for a sword that he could use for trick training that wasn't light like most faux swords. This one is awesome because it is heavy and durable. He has been using it for a while now and loves that it has the heft of a real sword, without having to risk injuries and property damage along the way. Recommend for anyone looking for a martial arts training sword.
