Academy 1/48 scale MIG-29A Fulcrum A

The Academy MIG-29 is decent. The Great Wall Fulcrum is better, but I suppose you get what you pay for. For comparison, the Academy kit cost me $30, while the Great Wall Fulcrum sells for $75. The Academy kit had conspicuous seams, but my biggest complaint was the crappy decal sheet. It has just four East German roundels, and you need six. Also, they didn't provide the red bort numbers, and good luck finding an aftermarket replacement. In short, if you're buying a model airplane for your grandson, he'll probably love this. But if you're going to build it yourself, you're going to want the Great Wall kit.

Nice kit but the nose has the wrong shape

Great detail but some parts fit terribly. If you want to assemble it with the landing gear up, good luck. You’re in for a ton of shaving, trimming, filing, filling, and sanding. The nose section doesn’t line up with the fuselage section. Big gaps at the wing-to-fuselage joints. Just lots of gaps and bad fit in general.

Looks like a good kit. Includes decals for the East German, and Iraqi versions of the MiG-29A. I am going to finish mine with Czech decals which I ordered separately on Amazon. Only thing that is disappointing is there is no historical writeup on the box or on tge instructions on the MiG-29A. Otherwise it looks like a good kit.

This is an old tooling of a kit, there is alot of flash and injector pin marks on every part and alot of filler will be required to get this into a desent model , this is only for an expereced modeler.

Certes, c'est une excellente marque de maquette statique, certes le niveau de détails est assez bon avec une gravure fort fine voire délicate en terme de raffinement. & si le plan de montage est bien clair, celui concernant le camouflage général aurait mérité un peu plus d'attention, par exemple un imprimé en couleurs. Les notations des couleurs du camouflage (11 : vert olive - 12 : brun rouge - 13 : vert) sont un brin sommaires. Mais bon... Cette maquette reste un vrai plaisir, facilement accessible.
