Amazing RF Amplifier...
Wasn't sure this was going to meet my expectations, but have to say that I am extremely happy with this purchase,I went with the dual analog/digital vhf unit,to boost the transmit power of my many ht's to better reach 2 repeaters in my area, one being approx.13miles away, the other about 17mi. I am currently using a Radtel 600,5 watt output radio in the 147Mhz range, and have gotten very impressive output levels from this BTECH amplifier,It bumped my power output to between 55 and 60 watts, and my swr is right around 1.45-1.49,I hope to reduce that with a little work but is well within an exceptable level for now,my signal reports have been good and no complaints on my transmissions,as before I used this amplifier my transmissions were weak and hard to hear at times, much clearer now! I am using a Nagoya UT-72 loading antenna, and a low loss 240 coax from HT to amplifier.I feel that this was a great option for me to turn my HT's into a 50-60watt base station. The unit is well costructed, small in size and very easy to hook up,as for longevity I will have to wait and see,but as or if any issues arise I will post updates, but as of this writing I am very happy and would not hesitate to recommend this amplifier to anyone wanting to boost the output power of their handheld 5w radio. Just be sure you select the right model for your needs,VHF or UHF model, and whether or not you want analog only or analog/digital unit. 73

Nice little amplifier
The BTECH AMP-V25 amplifier is working exceptionally well. It's just what I needed for those times that call for a little "umph".

Works great so far.
I bought this for use with my Baofeng radios I use for my Public Safety response job. The amplifier is easy to use and according to my agency it seems to sound better and stronger signal than our expensive patrol car radios. I would suggest mounting it to make it easier to use. I just toss it on my seat the seat of my jeep and go. The only issue is that the microphone plus seems to be quite flimsy but it hasn't fallen apart yet.

works well.
Amp appears to be working fine and the price seemed reasonable, thank you.

Great amplifiers.
BTECH AMP-V25D Review. FCC ID: 2AGND-AMP-V This amplifier is FCC certified Part 90. This is BTECHs VHF amplifier with DMR capability. This amplifier allows someone with a handheld radio to transmit at higher power. There are three ways to connect a handheld radio to the amplifier. The amplifier has a built in speaker as well as a supplied hand microphone. This allows flexibility in operation. The radio's volume control controls the speaker. Audio levels are sufficient. Transmit audio with the included microphone is good. The amplifier includes a power cable with a cig lighter plug, so it must not draw much current, even at higher power. The manual does not provide specifications. Power output is great: Advertised Power Output: 20-40 Watts Measured maximum Output power (Into dummy load):44 Watts with 5 watt input. All in all a good device. I'm happy with it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I also have the UHF version. This one puts out 45 watts! Pretty good. One thing: This amplifier is illegal to use on GMRS! ALL GMRS equipment must be Part 95 certified for GMRS use. There are no amplifiers with such certification.

Pretty good tool
Way better than I expected. I am hitting repeaters on a ht that I normally can only hit on my mobile. I used it with a baofeng, yaesu, and radiotty.

Quality control issues
Cons: • The pigtail connector disintegrated in my hands the very first time I tried to use it. One of the SMA connectors was just not soldered/crimped properly. But that's a minor issue. • The first major issue is that the amplifier just stopped amplifying for no apparent reason. I noticed this because there was too little current drawn from my power supply. A follow-up test showed that the antenna SWR was near perfect, but the output power was basically equal to the power of the connected HT itself. • What was tricky about this failure is that the amplifier still kept turning on and off, so it was not a power supply issue (and it isn't). It would also turn on the TX indicator light and produce an audible click. Basically, you might think that the amplifier is still working, unless you used additional readouts: (a) power supply whooping little current draw; (b) TX power meter showing low power out. In other words, you can't tell if the amplifier is working or not without additional equipment with additional features. Pros: • They sent me a free replacement pigtail connector as soon as I contacted them. • The amplifier works (unless it breaks). Summary: • I would suggest staying away from it, unless you are willing to play lottery. • If you are trying to turn your HT into a base station, I would suggest just getting a decent base/mobile radio.

Compact and Powerful
Btech makes great products. I'm a big fan of their UV-Pro HT walkie-talkies and I purchased this amplifier to use with mine. It works perfectly. It's compact. It does not overheat. I can move it easily between my in-home ham shack and my car. My "radio checks" report a clean and powerful sound. This is a great value and I highly recommend it.

Great addition for amateur radio hobbyists
Haven’t had a chance to test the power output yet, but I bought all three bands. Thanks BTECH! Keeping the bands separate allows for frontend and backend filtering to be unique for each band, as an engineer I really appreciate this aspect. I will post again photo once I have the triplexer bandpass filtering attached to the backend of a stack of all three of these, this will allow UV 5 and the like with poor filtering to latch onto signals with higher gain from base station antennas (selectivity/rejection), and actually benefit from better antennas, with a much smaller amount of attenuation on the front to keep them from becoming overwhelmed lol. Note: all radios exhibit this to some degree and can benefit from additional filtering, even superhet frontend radios. **UPDATE all amplifiers tested fine for power, from 20/25w VHF (my radios have lower power there most do) to 70w on 444mhz UHF!. Anyone having issues and or blowing these is probably unlicensed because if you were you would know SWR being too high will do that to any gear, it’s pretty low for these (1.5 max in the manual) just test antennas and be careful the UT-72 Nagoya they recommend is 1.1 on UHF but 2.2 on VHF, so WILL damage the AMP V25. I will post again if I check these bad boys for spectral purity.

Low Quality - Piece of Junk
It didn't even work for 5 minutes plugged into my car before quitting and smelling like burnt transistors ... and yes I had the appropriate antenna with a VSWR of less than 1.5 and a compatible Baofeng UV-F8RT two way radio plugged into it. I am very disappointed and somehow expecting more for the price. I learned my lesson and I do not trust this brand.

excellent amplifier
This has helped me greatly when used with a gmrs application. Has extended my range to 20-30 miles. Very good product.

UHF RF Unit.
In general, I'm happy with the ease of setup. I hooked up a UV-5R and tested the output power of the btec amp unit. The most that I could get out of it is 14 watts. That's a far cry from 30 to 40 watts that is advertised. I started the process of an exchange for another one. Hopefully it's just a defective unit and not all of them underperforming like that. I will update this review when I get the new unit **Update** I received the new unit. I tested it. It does preform as advertised. I'm happy with the item.
