Works Great in 2021 Land Rover
Was hoping for the best and this has been great. I have a 2021 Range Rover and have been using this for a few days. connection is quick (Land Rover system takes about 10 seconds to "boot" up at baseline. It takes me about 15-20 seconds total time before the CarPlay screen is up and ready. Connection has been great without drops/disconnects. I dont have a noticeable lag - again at baseline the LR system has a bit of a lag in button use - no noticeable difference from wired. Phone calls are clear. Very pleased so far

tiny cube ends the carplay cable fight, with the usual wireless lag tax
plugged this into the car USB and left the phone in a cup holder for a normal commute. listing says factory wired CarPlay or Android Auto only, and that matched. wireless CarPlay came up without a cable snake across the shifter. the unit is stupid small. it disappears behind the center stack like a USB potato, which is the whole joke. claim vs reality: "8-10 seconds" connect is optimistic on a cold start. sometimes it's quick, sometimes you're staring at the head unit long enough to mutter. once linked, maps and podcasts are usable. dual-band WiFi pitch is real enough that video/audio don't constantly stutter on my drives, but you still get the wireless CarPlay micro-lag that every dongle class has. steering wheel controls and Siri still worked. I didn't lose factory stuff the listing promised to keep. USB-A vs USB-C: use the port that actually talks CarPlay on your car. the OTG adapter in the box matters on some setups. if you jam it into a charge-only port you'll invent problems. heat builds a bit after longer drives. not melting, just warm plastic energy. android auto path exists; I mostly live on CarPlay so that's the lane I trust from use. skip if your car is already wireless or you hate troubleshooting first-week pairing. keep if you're sick of the lightning/USB-C cable across the cabin and you accept dongle drama as the tax.

Worth the wait.
I waited 2 years to find the right wireless carplay dongle. This one is small and inobtrusive. Connects within seconds and was truly easy to set up. When I first looked into them when I got my Ford Maverick they were running about $100 and needed double stick tape and cords to hide them from sight. Plug this in your USB port and away you go...cord free.

Avoid this Adapter or Say Goodbye to Incoming Calls
I bought this for use in a 2020 truck with a 2-year old iPhone. The adapter works for most of the CarPlay functions however not the most important one: phone calls. True enough, it’s for all intents and purposes plug and play, though I followed all provided instructions including updating the adapter’s firmware, every single incoming call is immediately sent to voice mail. Caller ID shows the caller’s number for 2 seconds and then the Caller ID information and the call disappear. What is most maddening: I suppose because the adapter is made in China and its company is likely in China too, there is no customer support phone number provided. I emailed the issue requesting support both via Amazon and to the email address listed on the paperwork and I received a responsive email telling me to email another address. I emailed that provided address and received a response that said: “This isn’t something the box can determine; you need to disable the corresponding function on your phone.” Unable to understand or figure out what that meant, I wrote again asking for further instruction and explanation. I then received a response that said: “Please enter your reply”. Forget it. I’m returning it - thankfully I’m within the required window. I’d strongly suggest avoiding this adapter unless you don’t care about having to take incoming phone calls.

I'm impressed...
I have gone through a ton of cables that wouldn't work and even the one that worked required me unlocking the phone every time I had to start the vehicle and sound quality was hampered... It would just disconnect and reconnect randomly... But, this thing, plugged in and connected immediately, had to turn the sound down it was so much louder... Every time I started the vehicle, it just connected and worked... I've bough my share of gadgets and shrugged oh well but, not on this one... I didn't expect it to work and it surpassed my expectations...

Works well with Android Auto. Same appearance as with a wired connection.
Works well with Android Auto. Same appearance as with a wired connection. Although it requires CarPlay to be turned on in the car in addition to Android Auto, it does not appear to emulate AA through the CP connection. Shows the Toyota icon, not just the generic Exit. Connects faster than the Motorola MA-1 that I had to replace because it failed.

Connection failure
I have this item a little bit over a month now, for the first month the connection was fine. But now it won’t connect automatically, I have to manually do the connection over the phone or unplug it then plug in again for it to work. That’s not how I want it work….
