Set up was easy. You have to have wifi for it to work. But my job requires me to be on call, so phone service was necessary. There were 3 or 4 for sale as I recall. I bought the only one this particular seller had, and got a better price. That might have been partially due to the lack of any instructions. Lucky for me, as I said, I'd had one so set up was no problem. This is a great product. It delivers what it is designed to, at a fairly reasonable price and isn't hard to install.

**Q: Does this work with straight talk?**
A: Works with Verizon Wireless postpaid, not prepaid. per answer in VZW community forums.  Since Straight Talk is prepaid, then no.

**Q: what else do you need to make this work**
A: Having the extender 5 days, can use with either wired (I do) or a wireless Wifi router. Internet broadband cable connection (FIOS not required, can use Cox, Comcast, etc., but not satellite or slower DSL (minimum 10 mpbs download and 5 mbps upload required), clear view of SW sky, not for all apartments (can use app 'GPS Status' by khaled rated 4.6 with your Android to check, need four yellow or orange icon circles in inner circle, more yellow stronger better), a Verizon Wireless 4G LTE phone with HD Voice (check your phone user manual), minimal of cell signal (close to 1 bar, 120-125 dBM,, not 0 bars at 140 dBm), and reliable power and cable (if either goes out shortly, then using cell tower). Setup is indoors, can take 2" by 1" by 0.5" thick GPS antenna out of the extender and place it within 23' of that with provided cable and place closer to window on a high bookshelf or taped to door frame within 10' of window (I did). Initial extender software setup I done within 15 minutes, but manual says allow an hour if weaker GPS signal. Instructions at back of 79 page user manual online for outdoor roof setup, with specific hardware needed which buy separately, if case cannot get GPS signal inside.
