Review: 英語初心者の中学生の宿題のため購入しました - 中学生に多読の宿題が出るため簡単という評判をみて購入しました。中２が辞書をほとんどひかずに読むことができるレベルの簡単な英語で書かれています。英語だととてもあっさりと感じるので、国語の教科書に載ったりもしているがまくんとかえるくんの美しい日本語とユーモラスな雰囲気は訳者の三木卓さんの手腕によるものなのかもしれません。 紙も丈夫で最後まで絵もカラーでとても綺麗な本でした。このシリーズは書店で購入すると１２００円前後の値段がついていることが多いのでお値段もリーズナブルで良かったです。 Review: 日本人でも読みやすい - 小二の息子が国語で「お手紙」を学習したので、タイミング的にちょうどよく英語に触れさせられると思い購入しました。 過去に、きかんしゃトーマスなどもう少し低年齢用のものを購入したことがありましたが、あちらは鉄道用語や鉄道オノマトペが多用されていて読みづらかったです……が、こちらは非常に読みやすかったです！ 日本人向けに書かれた英文かな？と錯覚するくらい平易な文で、スラスラ読めました。(高校時代に英検2級とった頃が英語力ピークの人間でも) 日本語訳を読んだあとだと、このシンプルな文章からあの訳にたどり着いた翻訳家さんのすごさもわかります。 がまくんとかえるくんシリーズの他の作品も購入検討中です。
