Best best best women’s classic read ever!
I, for sure, can say that this story is not fictional. The characters are too real and the way they are talking is more realistic than most nonfiction books/memoirs. Yes, you can try it for yourself if you haven’t read this book yet. There are two parts of Little Women. I have chosen the complete one to read and yes, I think I have done the right thing as now I am an adult who accepts people and situations as they are. Because if I weren’t, I would just be happy reading the first part. If you want an happy ending to the story, I would suggest you to read the first part ONLY. It has 23 chapters and it has a very wholesome happy ending. The young girls and their mother struggled a lot as their father is away at war. However, everything comes together towards the end and everyone’s content. The characters and the reader too I am saying. Yes, until this part can be considered as a whole complete book. If you are someone like me who just doesn’t need the fluff and happy endings when we know the characters are struggling as much as they are realistic, I would totally recommend you read the second part as well. You will cry for one character. And then, the dam breaks and you will cry for every character in the book thinking about this character. The second part of the book has some heavy trigger regarding loss of family and grief. I got triggered as I wasn’t expecting it and I had a difficult time completing the book as and when it happened. I would tell you not to pick up Little Women just because it is widely read or popular and it is so many people’s favourite. But read it when you want to read something realistic, ugly or beautiful when it comes to real life and if you want to feel connected with someone whose priorities change as we grow up and grow older. Even though I expected to like this book when I read it, I never thought the book would turn out like how it is. Guess I was pretty ignorant regardless of how many people have discussed about it for decades now. I stuck with my reading values and haven’t even tried to know what the book is about even though it was everywhere! This has made all the difference I feel!

Smooth easy going joyous book must be read
This 19th century American classic is the most popular work by author, written in the simplest form with a timeless theme. It feels so fresh reading it. It is the early life portrayal of the author herself. Perhaps it's simplicity is the reason which makes the book so joyous to read. This is the story of four sisters (little women) of March family; Margaret (Meg), Josephine (Jo), Elizabeth(Beth) and Amy; who live in the town of Concord, America at the time of American Civil War. The girls' father has gone to serve at a war as a dutiful citizen. And these four little women being home help their marmee (Mrs. March) in all the possible ways by contributing in daily household jobs and expenses. Although having different personalities and interests, these little women are so witty, responsible, merciful, polite and courteous. Laurie is an outspoken, fun loving lad living with his grandfather in their neighborhood. He becomes a part of March family when girls befriend him. This firmly bonded friendship is a priceless jewel of the book. Further story goes very smoothly in its distinct way. Simple life story of a March family is absolutely phenomenal and brings a certain soothing comfort to mind while exploring it. It is absolutely a book worth reading. It can be described as "an easy yet classic" journey of literary world which is adorned by some remarkable words. "Be worthy love, and love will come. " "Don't try and make me grow up before my time." - Louisa May Alcott

Vintage classic novel.
Timeless and Heartwarming: A Classic Must-ReadLouisa May Alcott’s Little Women is a timeless tale of love, family, and self-discovery. The novel beautifully captures the journey of the four March sisters—Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy—as they navigate the challenges of growing up in 19th-century America. Each character is so vividly drawn that you can’t help but feel a connection to them, especially Jo, whose independent spirit and desire to pursue her passion resonate with readers across generations. What makes this book special is how it balances lighthearted moments of familial joy with deeper themes like sacrifice, ambition, and the role of women in society. Alcott’s writing is simple yet poetic, making the book accessible but still emotionally impactful. Whether it’s Jo’s fierce pursuit of her writing career or Beth’s quiet strength, the stories of the March sisters will inspire and stay with you long after you’ve turned the last page. If you are looking for a novel that feels both comforting and thought-provoking, Little Women is an absolute must-read. It’s not just a book, but an experience that will leave you with warmth and reflection.

Pleaseeeeee read!
Hands down! One of the remarkable books I have read. This vintage classic is adored by readers of all ages but somehow I never read until now. A relentless captivating story of four sisters will take you on a bumpy ride of love and loss as they eventually become "Little Women". I can talk on and on about this book but I don't want to give any spoilers. Just the blurb. The story begins with March sisters missing their father who has been off to the American Civil War. As I flip through pages, tears come out of the eyes, anger runs through the veins, and happiness blooms on my face. I find all their personalities were intricately described in the old language but quite easy to understand. It gives anyone a fair idea of what it was like to be a family in the '80s and redefines our idea of what it meant to be loved. I urge everyone to read this classic at least once in their lifetime. I can't wait to read Alcott's next work. By the way, I was dead sure since the beginning that I am a topsy-turvy Jo, for her fiery temper, stubborn personality, and love for reading and writing.

Pretty and complete book
I was expecting just the book Little Women, especially for it being a hardcover for less than €10, but the book contains 47-chapters instead of the expected 23, so I was pleasantly surprised! I like this series (Chartwell) in general, it’s quite affordable and they are pretty good books for the amount you pay.
