I considered drilling it into the shelf so it looks seamless, but decided to mount it underneath first. Works great that way, but love knowing I have both options. They’re easy to adjust and quick to install once all the pieces are put together. I do remember that part being difficult and frustrating (I used pliers to help connect/lock the pieces together - the instructions make it sound easier than it is) but I installed these half a year ago and it’s all water under the bridge. You won’t be disappointed with these!
