I have extensive TAPO system 8 security cameras, contacts, door bell , motion sensors for over 2 years . The Tapo Phone App is very informative and intuitive . Added 2 water detectors . Tapo system is pretty robust and seldom disconnects . Can access videos and alerts on cruise ships, Asia, Europe. S. America Antarctica . So network is very stable

The sensor itself is really useful and I have multiple T300 sensors. However this one was ordered from the US and it didn't work with my H200 hub because of different wireless frequencies used in the US vs. rest of world. Had to return the item.

Effortless installation, both online and physical. Connected the first try to my WiFi. Placed it at the base of the pipe sticking up from my concrete slab in the basement, which serves as my A/ C drain. The compact size allowed me to place it where the first drops of overflow would land. I tested it by dripping water on it: the alarm sounded as it should, loud enough to be heard over the HVAC unit. And then I forgot about it. It's been in my device list, doing it's one task for a year without a problem. I literally forgot it was there, until the previous weekend, when I received a "leak detected" message on my phone. I fly to the cellar and yep, the drain is overflowing. About a quarter cup of water is on the floor. I clear the drain with bleach, mop up the water, dry off my sensor, and all is well. Later I receive a notification that the leak has been resolved and the device has reset itself. I find it very reassuring that even when forgotten, this leak detector does it's job 24/7 without complaint, with no connectivity issues, and no supervision. This is what the Smart Home should look like. I am very satisfied.

I’ve kind of committed to Tapo and Kasa for remote control for lights and environmental monitoring for house. This, along with the temp/humidity monitor gives me peace of mind when I leave the house. I can see and control the status of the devices (4 lights inside and out along with water sensor and temp/humidity) from my phone anywhere with internet access. You just have to have the hub for anything but lights. All very easy to pair through the Tapo app. Kasa and Tapo work well together. Picked up my home wi-fi quickly and easily. They off a nice line of quality home monitoring products at reasonable pricing.

For the price, even though you need to buy a hub, it's worth it for the piece of mind. Knowing you've got a leak before your home floods could save you thousands, plus eliminating the headaches that come with water damage. It works works well with other TP-Link devices so I have it setup with a TP-Link smart switch which will turn off a water valve so even if I'm not home I don't worry about flooding. I've got one by my water heater, another under the dishwasher, and one under the washing machine.
