Wish I can give it 10 stars. My hair is thick, north african, curly hair. I can’t believe I can straighten it quickly with 1-2 passes! I pair it with l’oreal heat protector and finish it with hair serum for the flyaways, but it stays soft and healthy looking for days!! It’s also so easy to curl your hair with one twist. Very versatile, smooth, and leaves the hair shiny unlike other big brands. Perfect temperature and I don’t have to worry about figuring out which temp to set it to I’ve been using it for months now and still excited! I finish my hair perfectly in 20 mins! I don’t dread it anymore. The picture is showing my natural hair and my straightened hair that took me ~10 min. It functions really well. Takes less than a minute to heat up. You can just place it on any surface as it’s designed in a way to not leave burns. HIGHLY recommended and saves you the salon money over time!

Hands down the best flat iron on the market. It's professional grade and I first discovered this flat iron when I was visiting London. Luckily its here in the US and I've been using it for 7 years. I absolutely love that I only need one pass through my hair and it's completely straight. I have textured hair so I would say this can work on all hair types. Just don't forget a thermal protector.

This is the most $$$$ flat iron I’ve ever bought but it’s worth every penny. Heats almost instantly, auto shut off, exterior is cool so no accidental skin burns. Works great, my hair gets very smooth and straight with fewer passes because the temp is perfect to do the job without damaging my hair.

UPDATE 2024: They've lost a customer for life. It's 2024, this $300 straightener has been replaced once because it pulls hair (look at picture), it's a design flaw that was unchanged when we finally got our replacement (process took over a month). This replacement has now, multiple times, done this "overheating" failsafe immediately after it's plugged in. That's on top of the pulling because they didn't design the body properly or chose junk materials. DO NOT BUY THIS. The GHD we had before this lasted over 5 years for half the price and never pulled or failed in any way until it finally did. 2023: Bought this for my wife last year, as her previous GHD Straightener finally stopped working. I want to say we paid about $200 for that, and it lasted something very impressive; like 5 years+. This one, however, the GHD Platinum+ Professional Performance 1" Smart Styler has been trouble since the start. Immediately, the thing was grabbing her hair as the straightened. Annoying, but she dealt with it because when I contacted GHD it would have been this whole process where I wasn't sure I'd get a brand new one in return. Despite there clearly being a defect as the previous 1" GHD didn't grab her hair. Now, after almost a year of owning, this thing won't even turn on. It flashes red or something similar she said. Not only is newer, but it's also more expensive and supposedly "smarter" than the old model that worked flawless until it didn't. I would not recommend getting this. Now, I have to go through warranty pains on something that I never should have. What's worse, is I'm sure they won't send her one in the meantime. I'll have to send this in and wait for weeks.

Heats up super fast and does a great job. My only complaint is that my hair gets caught in the end of the plate so I tend to lose a couple hairs if I’m not careful.

Tantas veces pensando no comprar una plancha tan cara por el presupuesto y al final tengo en cantidades mas planchas de lo que cuesta esta sola y ninguna ha llegado a la mitad de esta, sin dudas, no lo pienses, es muy sencilla, no hay nada que hacer, solo encender y ya, pero créeme, tu cabello te lo va a agradecer, es que la suavidad con que se desliza, no hay enredos, no hay sonidos raros, como quemando algo, la plancha se regula automatica para no maltratar, de veras, el dinero mejor invertido, confirmado por una que tiene mas de 6 planchas buscando la ideal, definitivamente perfecta!

La plancha funciona muy bien, deja el cabello liso y sin frizz, además de que también funciona perfectamente para hacerte ondas. No se puede regular la temperatura (la plancha lo hace por si sola), por lo que el cabello no se siente que se calienta de más.

I was initially a little leery to purchase this on amazon, I was worried it wouldn’t be “authentic”, but I decided to take the plunge and bought it. Upon arrival, I immediately went to GHD’s website and signed the product up for the warranty and had no problems so I’m happy to report the straightener is a genuine GHD product. This is my first expensive hair tool. All previous straighteners I’ve owned came from drug stores for $40. My hair stylist uses one in her salon on my hair all the time and I’m always so taken by how smooth it feels on my hair and how fast she curls my entire head. It slides like butter and it doesn’t pull the hair at all. I liked her straightener so much that I had to buy one for myself, despite the high price tag. So when it comes to actually using it, it’s very easy. The straightener claims to heat up in 20 seconds, but when I timed it, it actually heated up in 9 seconds which is very impressive. I have fine hair, so I’m always worried about excessive heat burning my hair, so the fact that this straightener didn’t have the option to choose your own heat made me a little nervous, but it’s been just over a month of using it and so far so good! The temperature always seems perfect and it only takes one pass to curl or straighten my hair! Because the shape of the iron is slightly thicker, I find it easier to get a nice curl. All in all, I think this was worth the money. It is a very high quality product and the honest fact is that my cheap drugstore straighteners don’t compare. I’m happy I splurged on this because it performs wonderfully!

OMG. I have been using flatirons since the mid-90s. I have gone through every brand, including premium pro stylers. They always required repeated passes through my hair which caused dry and damaged hair. The results were never perfectly straight, nor frizz-free, and I consider myself very adept with styling tools, including rollers! My last drugstore-purchased flatiron gave up after three years of not-daily styling and straightening. So, rather than end up with yet another less-than-satisfactory flatiron, I googled "best flatiron) and came across lists of the best for 2019 in all the top fashion mags, Allure, Glamour etc. The one styler at the top or near the top of every list was this one. So I bit the very expensive bullet and ordered it. To say that I am blown away (haha!) by it, is an understatement. I am in love with this thing. Quite apart from the fact that it's quick on, requires no temperature adjustments and can travel, it has left my hair shiny, straight (or curly, if that's what I want) as well as absolutely frizz-free. And I bought it in July, when the weather is humid. It allows me to very easily build in volume and shape, and with a twist of the wrist, waves and fat curls. My GFs all have noticed that my hair looks, as one put it, "more modern." Between the time I ordered it and when it arrived, I saw my colourist and stylist who both said I was nuts for spending so much. I am seeing them next week and I am bringing it to show it to them. That's how much I am impressed. I bet they will be too. Awesome product. No reservations except, perhaps, the price. But, as a life-long frizz fighter, I think it's worth the investment. UPDATE: After I took it to my salon, my guy tried and started raving to the other stylists. Many of them bought one.

Es un excelente producto, claro que lo recomiendo, llego en buen estado y antes de la fecha de entrega la calidad es muy buena ,no tiene para ajustar la temperatura 🌡 pero no maltra el cabello ,al momento de prenderla no tardo ni un minuto y ya estába lista para usar .

I can’t believe i didn’t get this earlier, I missed out on years of good hair days! I researched for months, trying to find a solution for my thick untamed bushy hair that would normally require either intense straightening treatments or 40min-1h of ironing at the highest heat setting there is. Yes this is a little bit on the pricier side but well worth the money and soo easy to use. You’re just one button away from salon quality styling. take a chance on it, you won’t regret it!
