Works great and is so simple
I love it. It turns out delicious icecream. One tip is to let it set for a little between cranks it sets up faster that way. I got a used one and it was in good condition + the company is great to work with if you have any questions. The rubber ring is really tight to get on and I thought it doesn't fit, but then I messaged them and they gave me tips. It works fine!.

Donvier Ice Cream Maker be aware!
I like the product but very much dislike its portrayal as a new one on Amazon. I would have returned it but had no time with grandsons coming to visit to buy another. It arrived in a very old ragged orig box with tape all over it and smelled like cig smoke. I had to remove the tape of course which ripped part of the box off since it was not put in another box to mail to me. Horrible! I really have no idea if it was really new or not! It did work fine however! Not worth $76 in its condition! Also, it did not come with the recipe booklet like my friend got from when she purchased this in the 80s. I had to make a copy of hers. Beware!

Make your own ice cream in minutes
I bought this item for a birthday present. The first batch we made together came out great. I did quite a bit of reading as to how to use the item and followed recommendations. We plan on limiting ourselves to once a week because the ice cream came out so well, we ate half of the first batch! Can't wait to try all kinds of other flavors....but once a week as we used heavy cream in the first round. May have to cut back to light cream so we can have more this summer.

I've had a Donvier since the 80's. I love the device and the concept probably more than the application. You do have to work fast with it or the build-up of rock-solid ice cream will make it next to impossible to move the blades. I'm not surprised to read some have broken theirs, I've often had to turn the blades with my hand over the center rather than the handle. It was that frozen. On the plus side, we have fresh ice cream or Italian ice most every evening. My husband and I are both lo-carb fanatics and making dessert with whipping cream, half and half, flavoring (a bit of fruit, sugar free jello, nuts...etc.,) is wonderful. We don't usually finish and the leftovers (put in another container) are ROCK solid. Just leave the bowl out for at least ten minutes and it can be served.

Homemade ice cream in no time!
I'm an addict. I admit it. I view ice cream as the perfect food. This lets me enjoy homemade anytime the urge hits. The one quart size is just right for a small family. The from scratch approach means you control ingredients. Clean up is a breeze. I would recommend this to anyone. One note-the recipe for their "favorite" French Vanilla ice cream is WAY too sweet. Look online or ask your grandma for a real recipe.

I love it!
It’s great and we’re happy to have this “vintage” item. It’s easy to use and makes great ice cream. My 6 yo loves it.

Not pleased
Yikes. I bought it for a wedding gift and didn't expect it to come in a beat up, tattered box and looking used. For the price I assumed it would be new. I'm so embarrassed

Fun, flavorful, feasible!
Was delighted to find I could turn the handle between tasking in the kitchen vs costant churn. Lime sorbet from my own tree is a dinner party hit. Item in reasonable condition in original packaging.
