They truly only stick to each other and a hard surface. They dont leave residue and dont roll off of the table tray. They continued to play with them throughout our trip and we're great for a hotel room toy. So compact. The container lid comes with a strainer so that you can fill with water, shake, rinse, drain. Being easy to clean is such a bonus for travel toys. 10/10 would buy again.
