I had the old school flood lights hanging from the ceiling from the 1980s that have recently all started dying with pull cords breaking. So I decided to go uber-modern. They're easy to use, super light, and I don't think you need any knowledge of anything in order to use them. If I really wanted to make them perfect, I'd hide the cord better, but it's hanging down and then I linked them all down the ceiling of my basement. They create quite a reasonable amount of light, the color isn't creepy/disgusting, and they work well. More impressively, my wife doesn't hate them - and she hates EVERYTHING! Including me, so that's good. (she doesn't really, we're quite in love all of the time every second).Anyway, this package was perfect for my window-less basement that's like 30 feet long. ### ⭐⭐ Shock Hazard *by D***S on Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2018* These tube lights pose a shock hazard. The power cord provided is only a two prong plug. That would be acceptable for electronics that are totally enclosed within a plastic case. If such a device were to develop an internal short, the plastic case protects you. But these tube lights have an aluminum case. If you look at the picture I included, you can see the wires that are tucked into the aluminum case at one end. These wires carry the full 120 volts and run the entire length of the tube. If one of these wires were to come loose or develop a bare spot on the insulation and touch the ungrounded aluminum case, the aluminum case itself would become a “hot” wire. Should you touch it while the tube is plugged in, a serious shock could result. Electrical devices like this with a metal case require the use of a three prong plug so that the case is grounded and the user is protected from an internal short to the case.It’s easy to see why these units do not have the UL approved label on them. I am very surprised electric devices like this without proper grounding are permitted to be sold in the first place.Since I did not want to throw these away, I removed the two prong power cord and hardwired the tubes to an outlet box and added a ground wire to the aluminum case to make them safer.As far as the lighting output by these tubes, they provide more than enough light for under cabinet use, but are too dim for ceiling lights such as in a garage.Bottom line is I would not recommend these. Get something that is UL approved. If you buy these, NEVER touch the aluminum case while the light is plugged in. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Light and bright *by G***K on Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2019* These have a whiter light compared to florescent tubes. Very simple design and easy to install. Be careful when installing the fixture to the clips--they are very thin and bend easily! The led light fixtures run straight off the mains and no ballast or transformer is needed. Maybe that's why they are so cheap. In use on low ceilings these things could use a little more diffusion. My only gripe I have about them is that I did not get enough power/switch cords. I ordered 2 six-packs and only got three cords. I'll have to use the coupling cords and splice a power wire on to it.
