This is a good commuter bag if you don’t need to carry a lot. First, it does not weigh much, which was a major consideration for me, because I walk a fair bit to and from work. It also has a chest strap to keep it from sliding on your shoulders. Together, the light weight and the strap make it comfortable. The bag easily holds a large laptop, my lunch bag, and my water bottle inside. The small side pocket can fit a mobile phone. I have another Thule backpack that worked crossing the ocean and carrying items on vacation, as well as being a commuter bag (only downside was that bag had no chest strap. I was very surprised when I bought this one and the zipper failed the second day. However, the replacement has worked perfectly. Overall, a good backpack.

Perfect every day laptop bag! Top handle is a bit thin, but the rest works great and perfect size and price. If you want more for travel and space upgrade to 23L.

Thule EnRoute 20L: Wonderful fit for my Olympus OM-D EM-1 Mark II micro 4/3 camera body + 12-100mm F4.0 PRO lens (24-200mm 35mm equiv.). I removed the useless (to me) Thule dividers and place the camera + lens sideways in the camera box compartment. It fits nicely with quick side access. A larger full-frame body + lens would probably be tight with anything other than a short to medium prime lens or similar. The 20L Thule additionally fits my thin MacBook Air M2 13" laptop and the space above the camera box holds a light jacket and my 7-14mm F2.8 PRO micro 4/3 lens (14-28mm 35mm equiv.) wrapped in the jacket - but I often carry just the 12-100mm. The vertical side opening is meant to carry a tripod but it fits my water bottle instead. With IBIS + in-lens IS I can hand-hold my shots without a tripod even at slower shutter speeds. The smaller compartment up top will fit a phone, extra camera batteries, energy bars, sunglasses, etc. The compartment cover is somewhat rigid so the contents are well protected. The straps are comfortable and the compact 20L camera pack is perfect for my compact 5-ft 8-inch frame ;-) I like to hike light and the 20L Thule EnRoute pack is just right for me and my micro 4/3 camera setup.

Great bag low profile stylish durable

A great backpack. Well-made and comfortable to wear. Lots of pockets for organization. Two compartments separate work and life. (see photos) There is a waterproofed pocket in the life compartment, which is nice. The laptop compartment is padded and has a false bottom (a bottom that raises a little bit above the ground so the laptop doesn't hit the floor when the back is dropped). The back of the backpack is well-padded. I like it, but I can imagine someone finding it too stiff. My only complaint is that the "pond gray" color doesn't match the photo shown on the website. It definitely looks more gray and less blue.

I've now had this backpack for almost six months. I wanted an everyday carry that also worked well for business travel and reviewed numerous bags before making this decision. I absolutely love this backpack! I love the mallard green color with contrast lining. The storage capacity is excellent and I've crammed a peacoat into the "life" section. The side pockets easily accommodate my liter Nalgene and my 40 oz metal water bottles. The front and back loops on the top are great for airport restrooms. It's comfortably padded to wear through long days in the airport and also sits great when slid over the suitcase handle. I have no problem fitting my 17" laptop, which I was concerned about, and my iPad in a rugged case. Yes, it can be a bit of a black hole, but that certainly isn't a bad thing for travel. It does look a little weird in the front when it doesn't have a lot in it, but still sits upright without issue. I am very happy with this purchase!
