Works great for my 2002 330ci
I decided to replace the DISA since i hit 100,000 miles, and they tend to go. BMW jacked up the price of the OEM piece, so when i saw this i was pretty excited. I was a bit worried about the quality, but i decided to take a chance. It looks identical to the OEM DISA i took off. Installed easy and cleared up an SES code i was getting. awesome, saved so much money. Make sure you check the compatibility for your vehicle, this is not for all e46 BMWs. It will only fir the m54(3.0L engine).

Good price
This was a good replacement for my 2001 BMW 330CI. This is a common item to break on the 3.0l engines as well as a few others. Amazon's fitment guide said this wouldn't work with my car, however I crossed reference the model number and found out that it will. I believe the blade on the 3.0l is larger compared to the 2.5l engines.

Bad Products. Gasket Seals did not hold up
Replaced on a 04 330ci. Product is an exact fit and of comparable build quality. The design itself is very poor from BMW but the price at the dealership was a lot more than i wanted to pay to replace an air valve. Edit: Bought item on Sept 2013 and it is now May 2014. I started hearing a whistling noise coming from the engine. I traced it back to this valve and I took it out to inspect it. The gasket seal was completely melted. I'm not sure what type of silicone or material was used but it did not hold up to the heat generated from the engine. It was definitely melted because there was a film of if all over the valve. I uploaded a picture to show. Do yourself a favor and buy OEM when replacing components that are an integral part or feeds into an integral part of your engine. I'm not sure how much of this silicone ended up in my cylinders but there are definitely missing parts of the gasket.

my car runs pristine perfect now! its worth the $125 to me just ...
2001 330i: first of all, my original one was completely broken, had to remove it to find out bc unplugging it while running is not the way to diagnose faulty part. you must remove and inspect it visually. i had misfire at idle and replaced spark plugs, coil pack, both rubber boots, and removed and cleaned throttle body. this disa valve was last thing i checked to see why the heck i still have misfire problems. once i got this item, it was the blue silicone. my car runs pristine perfect now! its worth the $125 to me just to fix my misfire problems. i havent put many miles on it yet to see how long it lasts, but i will most likely replace it with an bmw oem part soon, bc it says 'made in china' right on the viewable side once mounted, this is sacrilegious to bmw enthusiast as myself. cant simple have china on my bmw! but this item works perfect for problem shooting. no more error codes too!

Has the CORRECT electrical connector plug
While Amazon kept confirming the DISA valve would fit my 2004 X3 3.0 liter-- the Dorman was the only one to actually have the correct OEM connector plug. I kept ordering DISA valves from Amazon -- going up in price each time. The first 6 I orders ranged from $45 to $70 -- Dorman was double that at $145 -- but it actually fit like the original OEM connector plug. The other DISA valves Amazon had -- have a different electrical connector where the 2 inner prongs are smaller and closer spaced-- which won't let the OEM plug connect. There was another DISA valve that had the correct electrical connector plug-- but it's valve was sized for the 2.5 liter engine -- not the 3.0 liter. The 2004-2006 X3 M54 engines were still made in the Germany plant-- perhaps the other DISA valves Amazon offers fit M54 engines from the Spartanburg SC plant.

Very good quality
Fits perfectly and the fresh seals solved my original leaking device. Quality is similar to original factory part and this is well worth the price, especially when compared to what you'd pay at the dealership. Highly recommended!

Fits 2001 330ci
I was unsure when reading the description, but this does fit the 2001 BMW 330ci I own. The build quality seems pretty good, I had nothing to compare it to though because my old DISA valve was so messed up. This fixed some intake leaks in my car along with a ICV and throttle body cleaning, and a new lower intake elbow it is running a lot smoother. The shipping was great, ordered it with one day shipping, and even though they said it would take 3 days it did in fact arrive in a normal one day shipping timeframe. I can't speak to how long it will hold up, I will update the reviews if there are any problems. The fit was good, and car is running well though.

Great Value Over OEM Part
This unit was great while it lasted but after 11 months and only 5,000 or so miles it has failed. When I removed the original unit it had 120,000 miles on it... while the o-ring was bad it didn't look NEARLY as bad as the Dorman did when my mechanic pulled it out a few days ago. I couldn't discern a difference in build quality myself but the results speak for themselves. Save yourself the hassle and just get OEM.. you'll need to buy it eventually anyway!
