Product Description Keep interior wood projects looking beautiful with Minwax Polycrylic Protective Finish. This crystal clear protective finish protects and adds beauty to woodwork, furniture, and more. The clear top coat protects against scratches, scuffs and blemishes to protect the wood surface beneath. This clear sealer dries crystal clear and stays crystal clear, making it ideal for use over all Minwax Oil-Based and Water-Based Stains and colors, as well as all wood species including light woods like maple, ash and birch. The ultra-fast-drying protective coating allows for quick recoats after 2 hours. It’s also easy to clean-up the clear wood finish with just soap and water. This protective wood top coat not only protects the natural beauty of the wood, but offers a shiny, sleek sheen for a bright, modern look. It’s also non-yellowing, non-ambering and low odor. Note: Minwax Polycrylic Protective Wood Finish may appear milky upon opening, but applies and dries to a crystal clear protective finish that lasts. Application: 1. Surface must be dry and free of wax, grease, polish, any foreign matter or old finishes in poor condition.2. Sand to a smooth, uniform surface. DO NOT USE STEEL WOOL. Remove dust with a damp cloth. Let dry completely.3. If desired, apply stain such as Minwax Water Based Wood Stain or Minwax Wood Finish stain to bare wood surfaces following label directions. Wait at least 24 hours before applying Polycrylic Finish over Minwax Wood Finish Stain. Can also be applied to bare wood.4. Stir well before and regularly during use. DO NOT SHAKE.5. Apply a thin coat of Polycrylic Finish with a high-quality synthetic bristle brush. Apply in one direction with the grain. Do not over-brush.6. Let dry at least 2 hours then sand with very fine sandpaper (220 grit) to ensure an even finish and proper adhesion of additional coats. Do not use steel wool. Remove all dust.7. Apply a second coat. For additional coats, repeat Step 6 before applying. Three coats are recommended.8. After final coat, allow 3 hours before light handling and 24 hours before normal use. It seals my painted designs giving them a protective coating and I love the high gloss shine. There is no overpowering smell so I can use it indoors at my studio work table which is right next to my kitchen and living room and still get no complaints from the family. The product is fast and easy to use since it is water based and all I need do to clean up is run my brush under the faucet for a few minutes. A coat of this dries super fast allowing me to finish a project with several coats in a day. But for most projects I find that one coat is enough to give a piece a decorative shine. One word of caution to crafters however, if you use any of the oil based "paint pens" on a project you need to add those paint pen features AFTER you have poly-ed the piece. If you try to polycrylic over your paint pen designs it can break down and smear the paint pen colors.

I love this product for finishing off my painted wood art projects. It seals my painted designs giving them a protective coating and I love the high gloss shine. There is no overpowering smell so I can use it indoors at my studio work table which is right next to my kitchen and living room and still get no complaints from the family. The product is fast and easy to use since it is water based and all I need do to clean up is run my brush under the faucet for a few minutes. A coat of this dries super fast allowing me to finish a project with several coats in a day. But for most projects I find that one coat is enough to give a piece a decorative shine. One word of caution to crafters however, if you use any of the oil based "paint pens" on a project you need to add those paint pen features AFTER you have poly-ed the piece. If you try to polycrylic over your paint pen designs it can break down and smear the paint pen colors.

AMAZON IS AMAZING…& SO IS THIS PRODUCT…Super happy with this product. Definitely worth the money. I am extremely excited about using this sealant. My Son uses it for his outdoor garden decorations. I am always so impressed with how well they look and hold up to the harsh sun and weather. This sealant is awesome. Comes in matte, satin and gloss. I use satin on my garden lizards and gloss on all my snakes. The amazing quality. Super coverage. Rally hold up well outdoors on rocks too. I have a desert scene and use this on all my repainted garden critters and reptiles. Protects them from fading. Works very well on garden statues. Most of mine are resin, but I also have a cement life size rattle snake and the colors make him pop. So much that at first my mail carrier would not come close to it. It does look realistic, so I can see why she wasn’t sure about him yet. But she says now she looks forward to seeing him as well as all my reptiles. He even brought his family over to see it. I live in Kentucky and miss the high desert we use to live in. So my rock garden with all the desert critters makes me feel at home. Supper easy to use. Clean up is also extremely easy. Odorless too, so I use it in the house on cold days. It is the most comparable sealant I have ever used
