Rx Clear Shock Rx Clear’s Mega Shock contains 73% calcium hypochlorite, yielding 70% available chlorine making it stronger than Super Shock. The components of calcium hypochlorite makes this product similar to household bleach, but with a longer shelf life. Mega Shock is a highly effective multi-purpose product that sanitizes, clarifies and controls algae all in one giving you crystal clear water for a more enjoyable swimming experience. Dosage Add a 1 lb bag per 10,000 gallons of pool water. If you’re trying to kill algae it is recommended you use 2 bags of shock per 14,000 gallons until the algae is dead. **Q: What are the ingredients in the package?**
A: Don't know but it works great in my vinyl pool. Just make sure you run your filter when you put it in the pool.

**Q: Will this suffice for water purification in emergency situations? I understand you have to make sure you get basic Pool Shock with no additives...**
A: This stuff was old and rocky and didn’t do good on my pool.

**Q: Can this be used for sanitizing drinking water in proper dilution. I have the formula but the recommended product was Ultima which is unavailable.**
A: I don't think it's a good idea, I wouldn't try it.

**Q: is product safe for vinyl pools?**
A: I use it in my vinyl pool and it works great just run your pool filter when you use it.

Works just as well as Leslie’s 73 cal hypo shock, but cheaper. I was having a problem trying to get my free chlorine level to even register on my test strips. 2lbs of this shock (mixed in a bucket 1 lb at a time) sky rocketed my free chlorine levels. My pic of the pool is a little cloudy due to the chlorine level being high right now, but I’m sure that will resolve itself over the next few days as the levels come down. It’s been crazy 90 degree hot every day around here for a couple of weeks now. The test strip pic is from today, 2 days after I put the shock in a couple of nights ago. Next week if the fc level is low, I’m going to try 1lb instead of 2, and see what happens with the increase in free chlorine levels. If u want a jolt in your free chlorine levels, this stuff works.
