I use it for Rocksmith 2014. Plug the Rocksmith cable into the Out on the pedal and the guitar into the In with a standard cable. Works great. **Q: in the chain, before or after distortion?** A: BEFORE. You want to detune your guitar, not your pedal. If you send a distorted signal through this pedal, you're detuning the distortion itself, which you don't want (unless you like having lousy tone, in which case go for it). **Q: so this is for changing pitch without changing guitars? does it drop D or individual strings? if not what does?** A: It changes the pitch of the whole guitar, not just for a single string.
