## Questions & Answers

**Q: can I stick it in my Nikon d850?**
A: No... I believe this item is an XQD ADAPTER, for certain types of Mac/PC laptops (with a specific "card slot" to take a number of different types of cards; of which the XQD is this particular item). It slides into an "ExpressCard bus slot" on the side of the laptop; you then are able to READ the XQD cards directly. Most people use a simpler USB 3 adapter for reading XQD cards, and transferring the image files into their computers. If my recollection is correct, these may not even WORK with the newer 2nd generation XQD cards. BE CAREFUL!

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ XQD Card Adapter Allows Ejection
*by H***B on March 17, 2014*

Downgrading this product for stating the XQD cannot be ejected from the adapter is incorrect. The adapter fits into an express card slot and remains in it there is no reason to eject the adapter if it is the only express card device used with the laptop. A quality laptop (I have a Lenovo) will have a recessed area immediately below the express slot. To remove the card, simply insert a finger or thumb with the nail up and you will easily be able to pull the card out using the tab on the bottom on the card. You DO NOT try to push the card in to release, rather gently pull the XQD card out using the above instructions.Transfer speeds are great and there is not a need to haul around a separate USB card reader with this adapter. Simply leave it in your laptop and you are ready to transfer files without any external devices.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent performance on 17" MacBook Pro
*by E***H on April 11, 2013*

If you still have an ExpressCard Port on your MacBook Pro (New MacBook lines have dropped it unfortunately) this is a superb way to read XQD cards - if your internal disk is an SSD then the XQD over ExpressCard is mind-blowingly fast! One negative is that you have to pop it out to remove the XQD card, and in my case I usually have to pop it out and re-insert it after I wake up my MacBook to get the card to go live. but it never fails to go live at that point.

### ⭐⭐ Sony should have imitated Lexar!
*by D***2 on June 26, 2013*

I "dislike" THIS product, for the very reason I LOVE the Lexar XQD reader... the Sony provides NO WAY TO EJECT the card, after it's inserted into the reader. On the Lexar reader, the card can be "depressed", and ejected... exactly the way the D4 camera works. On the SONY reader, the only way I could eject a card is to: (a) remove the entire ADAPTER from the computer (!!!), or (b) put a piece of tape (or "sticky page marker") on the XQD card BEFORE you insert it... so that you have a "tab" to PULL on to REMOVE the card from the reader. Sounds silly. I couldn't believe Sony would market the product with this kind of a problem. YES, it WILL read the XQD cards... but if you do it very much (or often), you'll be swearing at Sony just like me.ps: the XQD cards ARE worth the trouble! They're fast, reliable, and much easier to use (in the CAMERA). But Sony should have followed LEXAR's lead on the reader mechanism!
