Great audio. But placement.
In my project to eliminate the more egregious vampire wall warts in my house, the oversized Cambridge Soundworks Henry Kloss speaker system is the first to go with its huge class 2 brick drawing almost half an amp static current 24/7. As well, I don't need premium audio from my desktop tower anymore.Newer mini designs use the same drivers (some with passive bass radiators) as found in those awesome portable Bluetooth speakers so I shouldn't have to give up too much in audio quality. Power is provided by the computer's USB port, eliminating the wall wart and that fits right in with my strategy. The box calls out this speaker set as the Fantech Hellscream GS201.PROS-The bottom firing passive radiators, one on each speaker, do a nice job dealing out the bass.-Loud, crisp, clean audio; the drivers are exceptional.-Attractive design. (The box shows a set in black.)-Component and build quality and fit and finish are top notch.CONS-I don't get the decision to point the drivers almost straight up as the soundstage suffers considerably. Wedging the speakers forward improves that somewhat with diminished bass due to loss of tabletop dispersion.-The cabling is too short.-The volume wheel is tiny and tactually limited and without the visual indication provided by a knob or a larger numbered or marked wheel. At this less than $20 price point, the GS201 speakers deliver the goods: great audio in a compact, visually appealing design. If these were pricier, I'd ding two stars for the upward firing drivers and poor cabling. Because of the price, one star.As dedicated speakers for an AUX-out jack audio device, the Hellscreams will fill a room with satisfying sound. You'll need a 5 volt USB "charger" for power, 500 ma minimum. For your desktop system or laptop workstation, don't even think about placing these anywhere above chest level.

Excellent for the price!
These are indeed great little speakers for your laptop or desktop setup. I use a monitor to display my PS4 and Switch games, and these provide a very acceptable level of sound quality and functionality. What I like most are the small bass drivers underneath each speaker. It won't rattle your desk and isn't as deep as the item description mentions, but it does help to round out the overall sound fairly well. Just make sure the speakers are resting on a solid, even surface for best results.I do wish the main drivers faced forward rather than completely upward. I feel like the sound would have been even better that way, but I really don't feel like that's a dealbreaker given the function and price. The speakers are round with a flat front, so theoretically you could place them face-down to drive the main audio forward at the expense of not using the bass drivers underneath. I think as long as the speakers are at desk level most people will still be satisfied with the sound. The cords are indeed short, but should still work okay for most setups if everything is close together. The speakers are comfortably spread to either side of my 27" monitor with room to spare. My only critique is the sound control. It works fine, but its place in the built-in wire setup can be difficult to reach. The volume dial is also a tad small. You can get used to all of it at this price, so it's forgivable.Definitely give these speakers a try if you have a small to medium display setup like my home desk!

Does the job, sound nice. Cord too short.
At this price point, these little speakers are awesome. I was looking for some low profile speakers that didn't sound horrible. These exceeded my expectations. My only issue with them would be that the cord is too short. I was able to plug into my monitor for the aux jack - if I had to plug into my tower under my desk, the cord would not have been long enough. Also, I have a 24-inch monitor -- the speakers just fit on either side. If I had a larger monitor, the cord between the speakers would be too short.

Annoying high frequency continuous tone
The speakers had a low volume, but clearly audible, high frequency continuous tone. It sounded like they were picking up RF radiation from the computers (I tried them on 3 different laptops), but I am not a tech expert so do not know if that is the problem. The sound was pretty good for the price apart from that problem, but they had to go back.

Good sounding and a great value speaker pair.
I just needed an inexpensive set of speakers for my office desk. Being able to lower the volume when my phone rings without having to switch between computer screens was vital to me. The inline volume control works great. I was pleasantly surprised at the volume level these could achieve. The sound quality was better than I expected but don't confuse these with a set of Bose speakers. Overall I'm really happy with these.

Perfect Desk Speakers
love the compact size, good volume, sound is good for a desktop or private room. Didn't take long to receive once I placed my order.

Great speakers, but wire is way too short
Speaker quality is good, sound is good, volume control is well made. So why make the wire so short it is almost useless? Isn't the wire the cheapest part? I would have given it 5 stars if the wire were anything close to useable. I'll splice a piece in myself.

Nice Speakers
Good price and size. Sound quality is very good, but is better suited to music than spoken word. They would be perfect if I had some tone control.
