Yes, you can connect to hardrive through our usb 3.0 port of usb c hub.
1.For best performance, devices connected to this hub should not exceed total current of 900mA maximum when no power source is connected to the hub. Otherwise, output current may become unstable or disconnected. Not intended for use with high-power devices (external hard drives, iPads, etc.)

Below devices are often rated as follows for your reference:

►Mouse: 100mA

►Portable hard disk: Max. 500mA

►USB 3.0 portable hard disk: Max. 900mA

►Keyboard: Max. 500mA

►Not Support: Apple Super Drive (startup currency is 2A at least).
2.For stable connection, connect a power adapter to the hub when using high-power devices. The hub can only support ONE hard driver when no power source is connected to the hub.
3.For Samung Tab S4:Cover your Samsung original cover when connecting Samsung Tab S4 to USB C HDMI HUB for Desktop.

Yes, it can compatible with ipad pro, as an hdmi-out adapter, sd card reader and as a charger with a proper 30w pd usb-c adapter, sd and TF card only can read pictures.
For iPad Pro  only support HDMI extend screen,PD Charging,keyboard.This hub cannot sync data with iPad Pro 2018 via USB-A,can not support mouse at iPad Pro 2018 due to apple limitation.
