Definitely read the directions because the pads must stick to a solid surface before it advances. There are two small electronic reader thingys in the pads that need to recognize that the pads are adhered to a solid surface before the device will advance (so sometimes these need to be lightly pressed down). I really like that the prompting of this training device and the metronome counting is really good to keep the pace of CPR. I will be purchasing more units. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality with a small design error that stops it from being perfect *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2020* I like the UltraTrainer. They are a great value. I've taught a couple thousand students with the class set. They've all help up very well. The unit feels very solid and much higher quality than the Red Cross AED trainers. They use universal pads that are preattached, which I love.The design error comes with the placement of the sensor on the pads, they put it dead center on the pads. I use the Prestan adult, child, and infant professional manikins with feedback. With the infants, the sensor is placed directly over the dip in the spine on the back of the infant manikin. A contact sensor does not work well when placed over the dip on the infants back, which is exactly where the back pad needs to be placed. Some students get frustrated with it. I would say nearly 1/3 of my students struggle with that. If the sensor on the pads was off to the side or maybe a double sensor it would get better contact on the infant and work much better overall.I would recommend this AED trainer as is. If they modified the pads to work better/easier with their infant manikins it could be perfect. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ LIght weight AED for BLS classes *by S***D on Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2020* Prestan Ultra trainer ideal for CPR Classes. Easy to carry and it does require 2 C batteries for operation.I have only used it to check out the options for applying an AED for an adult and infant and not used it in a class yet.I chose the product because it is made by Prestan and I have manikins also made by them and have been pleased with the quality of their products.
