Review: Ram - Worked very well
Review: great and very easy to install. - This was exactly what I needed and super easy to install. I have a complicated house system and the installer's separated the doorbell function and the speaker/microphone function, so I wasn't sure what I was going to get when I hooked it up. The whole thing worked perfectly. In terms of installation, there is a back piece that has 4 mounting holes, once that is up, the main section plugs and screws into it with the one screw you can see at the bottom center of the front picture. I then had to dissemble the entire thing and re-attach the parts as my wife wanted to keep our brass plate.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: is it wireless?**
A: No.  This unit requires two conductor wiring to connect with a compatible Panasonic interface. Such as a KXTD816 with door phone card installed.

**Q: May i replace this with a ring doorbell? Will it send the signal so my phones at home make a sound ?**
A: No it will not. Ring does not interface with anything else. 

Check out Doorbird. They have a product that can work with Panasonic phones. It does take an adjustment in the Panasonic system, but it does work well.

**Q: will this work with a kx-td 1232 system?**
A: Yes, it works with kx-td1232 system.  Thanks

**Q: I would like to upgrade this unit so i can open the gate remotely. Can this be done?**

I've had these for 29 years and when the first one died years ago I never looked for a replacement. Then COVID hit and doors are locked and the front door one died. I never thought they would till make them. They are so much cheaper than 29 years ago too. 5 minute installation and we are back in business for both front and backdoor and can speak to someone or they can buzz to let us know they are here.
