The latest iteration of our industry leading efforts to bring hydraulic performance to the developing road/cross disc market, the HY/RD is an OPEN hydraulic system that is FULLY compatible with ALL existing cable actuated levers! True to our tradition of excellence, the HY/RD brings the following: True 'plug-and-play' compatibility with ALL existing cable actuated systems. Hydraulic reservoir provides automatic pad wear adjustment. TRP's own ultra-grippy semi-metallic pad that is Shimano M525/M515 compatible allowing for further customization. Compound works well in dry conditions but may wear quickly in wet/muddy conditions.

I bought an ebike that shall remain nameless and it came with really bad disc brakes that were going to cause the end of living for me. They didn't work and only applied pressure on one side of the rotor. This is pretty common with an entry level bike. But your life is your life. A friend told me about these. THEY ARE AMAZING. Easy to install. (Look up the vid on youtube.) They are really powerful and ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. Don't risk breaking your neck. Trust your gut on brakes. If they feel weak, or squeal like pigs...they're junk. HY/RD for the win.

Direct bolt on replacement for mechanical disc brakes. Works very well. it doesn’t get contaminated with dust so it should last longer then TRP mechanical brakes did. They also stop better then the mechanical brakes do!

I don't have other mechanical or hydraulic braking systems to compare this to, only the disc brake that came on our Inokim Ox but I can tell you we love this little device. I'm back here to order another one for my wife's Inokim Ox next. It easily cut my stopping distance in half which is important when you're 230# like I am. I highly recommend this upgrade to my other buddies with rear disc brakes on their scooters.Oh, and install took me about 10 minutes. Super easy. Just look for the YT tutorial.
