**Q: I'm planning to use these for a science class, but can't find safety info for parents. Can you help? How much of each chemical is on each strip?**
A: The Center for Precollegiate Education and Training at the University of Florida has a lesson plan and information on the chemicals.  Search this sentence: "Ingesting too much PTC at once can cause thyroid damage, which is why it's important to limit the students' access to the taste strips."

**Q: Are the papers for each tube colored differently or are they all white?**
A: They are all white.  Those colored papers are just inserts with the name of the chemical

**Q: I've been looking for food grade sodium benzoate that is listed in the ingredients of things like nusugar, is this sodium benzoate it?**
A: This is a litmus kits that can give you a hint of whether you are a super taster or not.  I know the sodium benzoate strip tells the sodium content

This kit was such a fun way to explore our taste genetics as a family. It comes with four types of strips—PTC, thiourea, sodium benzoate, and a control—and it was fascinating to see how differently each of us responded. One of us was a clear supertaster, another couldn’t taste anything at all! Even though instructions weren’t included, we didn’t need them—it’s very self-explanatory, and everything is clearly labeled. The quality was great, and we had some really interesting conversations afterward. Highly recommend for families, classrooms, or anyone curious about their taste perception!
