PUR is by far the best 30 cup water filter. Well built easy to use easy to sanitize. This one replaced one We have been using over 8 years! And it still works... I just chose to get a new one. A fresh one... worth every penny . $45 but worth it/ we bought less expensive 30 cup from Brita and had to return it. Not a complete seal with the filter they provided. Trickled on the outside of filter. Cheaply made too. No PUR is still the best value and efficient and high quality's

PUR water dispenser leaked water from the spicket all over my fridge - this is my 3rd purchase of the same PUR water dispenser. They've functioned reasonably well about 3 years each. The spicket on the one I'm replacing just fell off.

THE GOOD: Using the lead reduction water filters, the filtered water tastes great. THE BAD: As others have said, the spigot is poorly designed and will fail. Biggest issue - there's no way to replace the spigot, or better yet, the plunger or silicon seal within the spigot that's bound to fail. Only option is to replace the entire dispenser. First fail - While still on my first filter cartridge, but beyond the dispenser return date, the dispenser started leaking from the spigot. Before I noticed, water had seeped between my hardwood floor boards, permanently staining them. I disassembled the spigot as best I could, cleaned out the internal plunger seal as best I could, and sanded down the bottom of the spigot lever a bit to be sure the plunger spring closed things all the way. This helped but didn't fix the problem entirely so I keep a plastic tray under the dispenser to catch leaking water. Second fail - After a few more months the little plastic nubbins on the spigot handle that lift the seal plunger broke off, making the spigot handle useless. I did further surgery to install a piece of a nail as a metal axle on the spigot handle. This has worked so far but was a pain and wouldn't have been necessary if this thing was designed well. The only reason I bothered with the DIY repairs is because I'd bought a year's supply of lead reduction filters which were expensive and beyond the return date and, out of principle, I won't spend more $ for another shoddy dispenser. THE UGLY: These dispensers are expensive considering that they're designed to fail. People have been writing reviews about the spigot failures for years and PUR hasn't changed the design. If anyone at PUR is bothering to read these reviews - design 101: make parts that are prone to fail strong so they likely won't fail and easily replaceable if they do.

This is my second time buying same product, first one my kid broke the dispenser by mistake so bought the exact one again and been using it for 2yrs now. Work very well for us and easy to use. Waterflow is great, if changed the filter right on time with the blinker light help water taste good. Easy to move, compact and worth buying.

Alright, as for now, there are three top water filter dispensers. PUR, Brita, and Zero water. For me, PUR was the final choice because it was a balance between Brita and Zero Water. However, it is difficult for me to recommend PUR, as a company. Unfortunately, PUR have failed to deliver such essential product as water filters. For months no words from PUR as to when they will even have the filters available. The product itself works well, it doesn’t filter out everything like Zero Water, but it does a better job than Brita. (Unless Brita update its products) The build in indicator is a gimmick and I will NOT depend on it. (Green light means, the water is good, Orange means, it is almost time to change the filter, and red means, it is time to change the filter) However, there is no connection with the indicator light and the water filter. So basically, PUR have a sensor in the indicator that determines if you pull the water release handle for a certain amount of time, the light will change to orange and then red. Meaning it’s time to replace the filter. However, here is the problem, since it’s not connected to the filter there is no way for the indicated to be accurate. For and example, if your tap water is really, really bad and contaminated. Your filter could be long overdue for a replacement, but the light will still be green, why? Because the indicator is based on how often you pull the water release rather than an actual test. So, you could be drinking really bad unhealthy water while waiting for the light indicator to tell you it’s time to change it. On the other hand, if your tap water isn’t bad, but you just want to be on the safe side and you’re using the PUR filter. The filter could still be clean, but the indicator will indicate that it’s time to change because, once again, it’s based on how often you pull the water release handle rather than an actual test. In fact, every once in a while, you have to reset the light indicator, recommended by PUR, which proves my point that it’s not based on testing the water quality, rather how often you use the filter. So then, why did I buy it? If you are concerned and will not drink your tap water… the truth is “Most” of the water in all 50 states are better than the water in other countries, but if you still aren’t comfortable with drinking your tap water, a water filter could give you that peace of mind. Considering you already tried a bottle of water and got tired of having bottles everywhere. A local TV station did a test on the three water filters previously mentioned. Zero Water scored the best, next was PUR and Brita came last. (At that time) Two of the companies responded to the local TV station, PUR and Zero Water, but Brita did not. Hmm. So, with that being said, my choices were two, Zero Water and PUR. Zero water doesn’t use a light indicator, they give you a free water tester. As long your filter is good the water reading should show as zero, meaning it’s pure water and nothing else. Once the reading on the tester shows above zero, then it’s time to replace the filter. Which to me make a whole lot of sense now, than a gimmicky light indicator used by PUR, which isn’t a terrible idea, but it’s not accurate. I wasn’t going to buy two of the devices at once, so I got one, and the final decision was great. Until now, for months, there are no filters and no words from PUR. Another personal aid in my decision was, PUR is an American company. I believe things like water and water products should be produced nationally. Zero Water is also an American company. Lastly, if you are having a leaking problem with your PUR water filter dispenser, then don’t overfill it.

I have had this filter for about 2 months, and I couldnt be happier. My city doesn't have drinkable tap water, and being pregnant, it was important to have a good filtration system for myself. I did my research and found this one. I do not personally enjoy the taste of water, but I have noticed this water does have a clean, and palitable taste. It does take a while to filter, but it isnt as bad as people say. My husband and I worked out a schedule, that I fill the top portion in the morning and he fills it at night and we hardly run out of filtered water. I highly recommend this filter to everyone, and has noticed a huge difference in my drinking water.

Exactly what I wanted

We just moved into a new construction home in a brand new community and even out of our brand new refrigerator's water dispenser, the water just tastes off despite it being from one of the highest rated water suppliers in the state. I chalk it up to the plastic in all the new water lines, pipes, all the plumbing glue, etc. In our previous home, we had a water refilling station nearby so used 5 gallon jugs with a Primo dispenser. But in this house, there isn't really room for a dispenser in the floorplan. In a previous home a few years ago where the tap water wasn't great, we'd had a fridge PUR water dispenser and loved the water produced by that dispenser. So, we thought we'd try PUR again. I ordered it on Prime and had it here in two days. I've had it filtering water here for about a week now and am glad to say our water is now drinkable thanks to this filter. I had no issues installing the lead-removing filter after soaking it the recommended 15 minutes and rinsing it for 10 seconds. The tap water cycled through the filter at a reasonable speed and was ready to dispense in a reasonable amount of time. We tend to drink a lot of water, so I've gotten into the habit of refilling the dispenser nightly, right before bed, so that a full dispenser of fresh water is ready for us the next day. For the cost of the filter, which lasts two months and produces around 40 gallons of filtered water, it's a great value and highly convenient. We no longer have to lug 5 gallon jugs out to water stations to refill, and we're not contributing to landfills by bringing plastic water bottles home from the grocery store. Also, PUR taste is the best among pitcher/fridge dispenser brands. I've tasted Brita and ZERO Water at friends' homes, and I prefer PUR. I highly recommend this dispenser.

El tamaño es ideal para una familia con 2 hijos pequeños muy sedientos. Prefiero saber que están tomando agua 100% limpia. Se tarda muuucho en filtrar, asi que en la noche, lleno la parte de arriba y todo el dia estan tomando de la reserva, nunca se me ha terminado. Pero si se llegara a acabar, tendrias que tener mucha paciencia, pues filtra muy lentamente.

I had this brand filter in my other apartment but I movedcouldn’t installed directly from the tap in my other apartment, so I decided to buy that kind of filter, after reading some bad reviews I decided to buy another filter (popular) and I was disappointed, so I returned, so I got Pur and I am satisfied, it would take some time to filter but trust me, the water will taste good

Good product

The water started leaking after 2 months of use. It was good while it lasted but I was hoping it would last longer than 2 months.

Llevo usándolo dos meses y solo una vez se tapó el filtro. Solo hubo que ponerlo bajo el chorro de agua fría para que se destapara. Noto que el agua tiene sabor al agua embotellada por lo que es buena opción para dejar de contaminar y ahorrar también. Ahora me falta comprar un reemplazo del filtro porque duran aproximadamente dos meses.
